I’m not having a go at them for it, quite the opposite, glad we are seemingly keeping him.

Oh I didn't think you were, was just outlining the situation from what I read.

Sky Sports had some irrelevant League 1 or 2 side owner on during the week. They were asking for his thoughts about the Isak situation, he said he’d sell and get him out and couldn’t understand our problem.

WTF would he know about replacing the best CF in the league, Sky really are just filling in space at this point.

If it was the Irish guy who owns Peterborough then he would say that, because he's a massive Liverpool fan.  He said something along the lines of "Newcastle should just cut their losses and sell Isak for £120 or £130m and then sign Nicholas Jackson - it's a no brainier!". He's been on several times and always comes across as being full of self-importance, he's like a Poundland version of Simon Jordan.

For me it's all about Liverpool seemingly being the only possible destination if he leaves. If PSG, Real, Barca etc were interested I'd be "fine" with letting him go for 130m or whatever. But letting him go to Liverpool, the team we're trying to catch, is a non-starter for me. Hell, even Chelsea would be a better option, although of course not preferable.

No to a premier league team mate. If Chelsea were the team he was being linked with, their efans will be doing exactly the same as eliverpool fans are doing. Add Man u and Arsenal in that. Man city would be the most bearable but not the others.

We must absolutely make sure Isak leaves for the continent next summer if he stays. Get Barca etc to come in for him.

If he is to go to a premier league team we must make sure they pay a price they are not happy to pay. Proper shaft them on the price. 150m plus.

For now until Isak leaves (this summer or the next) All our socials are going to be flooded by these efans of Liverpool. Lose a game they on it. Draw the same thing. Even if we win, it will be #freeIsak

I kinda hope they bomb this season and dont make CL like 2 seasons ago whilst we do.

Just saying Chelsea would be a marginally better option than the Scousers but yeah then 150m is a minimum. But I fully agree, make everything to keep him until next summer and then sell him to Spain or PSG.

We should only sell at a discount if Isak hands in a transfer request. Which means Liverpool or whoever paying his bonus. We cannot pay him to force a move away, which gets done at a compromised price due to him forcing a move away.

Since PSR is irrelevant till June 30, we might as well keep him. The only "win" in selling is from getting a good price, which 130M is not, and certainly not in a summer where every fucker else has been overpriced.

Fuck that.

We should not sell at a discount under any circumstances whatever.

We should not sell at all unless he hands in a transfer request, and then not for less than £150 million.

Not that I want him to succeed, but Gyokares scoring two yesterday while Isak is sat on his arse might make his international starting role look less nailed on.

Ive watched a few of Isaks games for Sweden and he looked like he was holding himself back for us. And playing a strange position, not a forward not a 10 just jogging about really.

Not that anyone asked, but here's Troy Deeneys thoughts:

Quote

'In private, my agent said to me, "you're going to have to kick up a fuss here. You're going back to training and you'll do all of the running but as soon as a ball is involved, you're going to have to ruin sessions, you're going to have to kick balls away. But importantly, you can't let anyone on the outside know what's going on".

'It was really hard, you would go home feeling guilty, being a d*** for no reason, burning bridges for people you quite like.

'But you've just go to remember who you're doing it for: yourself. That's how Isak will be feeling. This is a career-changing, career-defining move.

I feel like Isak being the all round better player means he is always going moved about for Sweden so they can get Gyokares in as well. He is only really elite when he plays through the centre. Isak can go left, or even just behind and still be top level. The cunt.
