Us "coming to them" is nonsense, like. "Hi Liverpool, this player doesn't want to play for us and only wants to come to you. Want him?". Liverpool can tell us "75 million or get fucked". We all seem to forget that the selling club literally holds all the cards in this situation, although the fans feel otherwise. It'd be crazy to capitulate this way.

The only thing that makes sense is if the two clubs have already worked out the selling price way in advance, and the only hurdle is the second striker for us. That, I can see happening.

Unfortunately, I agree.

IF liverpool are waiting for us to call them and deal at the price they demand maybe Caulkin is right. And this is a we've tried transfer for them.

Very odd they value a german midget who's totally unproven in this league higher than one of he best strikers in the world.

I think they blew most of the Isak budget on Ekitike and also they dont need Isak, they see him as a market opportunity.

However their fans say Wirtz is a generational talent 🤣

If we don't sell there is always January.

Maybe more bidders. Maybe a club that is desperate because they've lost a striker to injury.

Maybe a Catalan giant with a 37 year old leading the line?

Maybe a Parisian Oil Club who's only weakness is the lack of a talisman Number 9.

How about a German Powerhouse who's star striker is approaching his mid 30s.

Nah, better go begging to Liverpool for the privilege of them choosing one of our players.

Probably no other club wants him after seeing that stinking attitude.

Oddly enough, a Catalan giant with a 37 year old leading the line - with two players we've been interested in previously.

A Parisian Oil Club with a striker who they don't use all of the time and we've been interested in previously.

A German Powerhouse from whom we've just nicked a forward they've been chasing all summer.

These clubs actually could have done business with us, and I'm not certain why we haven't. Perhaps it's the "only wants Liverpool" part. But wanting Liverpool over Barca is another kind of idiocy.

My prediction is the sale of Isak is predicated on signing a replacement, if we make a breakthrough then he will go very quickly. If we don’t then I think he stays though absolutely not through choice. It’ll probably come down to Liverpool increasing their offer to a level that allows us to increase our offer for someone most probably JSL or Wissa. So no real benefit to the increased fee beyond it helping to get a replacement.

As if we’re going to call Liverpool encouraging them pay under his market value. Bollocks.

Definitely a huge sense from some media tossers that Liverpool deserve to get isak.

Isak's face if he's still here on Tuesday either way he'll still be a twat

I still think a lot of it has got to do with some "deal" he has with his dodgy agent, maybe the situation would be different if that relationship was ended, I reckon thats also why Howe has been told to say everything is in the hands of the owners.

Let's face it Isak is miles better than Wissa or Larsen, get him back in the squad and his agent out of the picture and let's have a real go this season.

*I might even stop calling him a Skinny Judas Cunt*

We cannot capitulate to Liverpool under any circumstances.

My one fear is that we sell him 'cheap' under the justification of team harmony. Don't do it. Full wack or not at all.

I hope we keep Isak in the sense that neither he nor Liverpool should get what they want, and that we have more options to sell later on.

The team Harmony comments are odd by nature anyway.

It's either he apologizes to the lads and proves himself worthy of his spot in the dressing room or he doesn't. If he does I'm sure they welcome him back, if he does not he trains alone and doesn't interact with the lads anyways.

Still can’t quite get over Liverpool trying to come across like the injured party here. Won’t bid but prepared to do a deal closer to their valuation if we ask. Fuck off.

Very un-Liverpool like behaviour as well to position themselves as the victim in a situation.

The business of top-level player transfers is fascinating, to be fair. On the one hand, there are sagas like the Isak Affair, with all the skullduggery and undermining and media offensives that drag on over a month-and-a-half (or more). On the other hand, there are deals like Woltemade where seemingly Club A sits down with Club B, plus the player and the agent, and hash out a deal in several days, totally under the radar and all in good faith. Surely the latter would be far less exhausting than the former? Liverpool themselves are left on tenterhooks with 24 hours to go, and they could've literally gone in for a half-dozen top continental strikers for half the price they'd have to stump up for Isak.

Ornstein said on skysports that Liverpool doesn't plan on bidding because they think their official offer of 110 is enough, maybe going up to 120 like their first informal offer.

They're gonna wait for us to come to them.

I hope we dont open the door for them.  I pray Eddie feels he can reintegrate him..

Liverpool are clearly not going to bid his true value and only want him at a distressed price. As long as we hold firm and don't entertain it, we will be able to bring Isak back into the fold once it's clear they were just trying it on. He'll reintegrate fine once it's there in black and white that they never really took the move seriously.

The annoying thing here is that Isak and big Nick could be formidable together.

I could see Nick playing some lovely through balls to Isak and vice versa.

If we have good people making decisions at the top, this is how it will pan out.

To many fingers in the pie with his agents, former club, hangers on, loyalty bonus ect, if we ever did accept £130 how much of that would make it to the club ?
