Aye, but even Eddie will have a breaking point, and we don't what was said by Isak to Eddie. I'm convinced he's upset Eddie to the point Eddie wants him gone for the sake of the squad. For all what Eddie's done for him, i think he's thrown it in Eddie and the staffs, and players faces. So much so, enough was enough. I believe Isak has been so out of order that the bridges have been burned, but to Eddie's amazing credit he refuses to blame Isak and reveal what has been said. If I'm right, and of course I'm just guessing, but this i really believe it shows what an amazing man Eddie is, and what a cowardly piece of pathetic shite Isak has revealed himself to be. This was very predictable but it's a mistake and when you make such mistakes you get punished. Again and to be very clear I don't care if he plays for us again or not. You can't reward his behaviour by giving him what he wants and you can give Liverpool the player when you know they've engineered this. Isak can rot until January no issues, he won't see our players he will be training alone. I'm not having this notion that we hav to ship him out this window at Liverpool's convenience. There is zero chance that Eddie would be comfortable having Isak “rotting” for 6 months, being asked about him every press conference, the players being asked about him continuously etc. I’m happy that we’re getting rid… it’s for the benefit of the squad. alexf
If it's the club putting the message out that were ready to deal at £130m. My only positive reading of that would be that we have a deal lined up for a striker ready to go that we are happy with the financial on once we receive atleast £130m. If not then we're being run by absolute morons. Edited August 31, 2025 by alexf
Ketsbaia
How can everyone be so chill with seeing him in a Liverpool shirt, smiling, celebrating a goal? And seeing Liverpool fans happy? Knowing that we've completely caved in and embarrassed ourselves. Maybe it's a coping mechanism, but in no way is this sale good news.
Vaj
I don’t know how they work but surely we can legally fight the loyalty payments on the basis of the fact that his actions constitutes a transfer request. Absolutely ridiculous that he can act the way he has and get loyalty payments
midds
PIF are weak as fuck, they've been played and are going to cave in tomorrow morning. They've been outthought and outmanoeuvred these last few weeks. One of the best strikers on the planet is going to join another club for substantially less than he's worth as a direct result of him refusing to honour his contract and the complete failure to deal with it. This is the marker for them and all of the other big clubs now - they've given in and they've lost. More players will do the same, they've shown their weakness and it'll be fully exploited in the future too, just fucking watch Well done lads

Brother please, what is this? we have a press officer who can tell them no isak questions. (We shouldn't be taking so many questions on him anyways I've got no idea why the club allows it) Your ok with looking piss weak and rolling over? I’d agree that this would be really frustrating if we don’t have a striker signed tomorrow, but as things stand there’s nothing to suggest that being or not being the case. Hope has been saying it's a strong possibility for months. Ornstein's article might say it, but they all say we're compromising on price, which I find unacceptable in the circumstances

Bimpy474
How do we know that we haven't got a striker lined up, Wissa, Larsen or someone no one knows of yet. I guess tomorrow we'll find out.

Ed Vinegar
If we don't bring in a replacement the season is a write-off. That's probably the case whether or not we keep Isak. So we've just got to sign a striker tomorrow. If we don't it's a colossal fuck up no matter if we bag £130m or double that. FFS.

Hence the reason why there is now a 22 year old from our academy who just made the England squad... playing for Nottingham Forest. And you're mental if you are feeling smug about us going into a 60 game season with an unproven striker from the Bundesliga as our sole option up front (who is not a lone forward to begin). All it takes is one stray boot from some relegation fodder clogger and we're fucked. I spend most of my days explaining finance to non-finance people so not doing it on a message board. I get it and we have doubled our money and increased our PSR headroom. I'm not smug at all, but I'm not letting 1 dickhead ruin my season either, nor am I worrying about whether LFC think they've got one over on us. BennyBlanco
Caving at £130m is fuckin piss weak. Especially if we don’t another striker in tomorrow.
