I think a lot about the Carroll deal these days with Isak. Obviously a very different decision process because of our shitbag owner at the time, but in retrospect we sold him at the peak of his value and it turned out to be a poorly thought out panic buy for Liverpool.

I would have never believed that if you told me that is what would happen on the day the deal went through. It genuinely felt like the worst thing I’d ever experienced as a supporter. But with the benefit of hindsight, it turned out to be a good decision for the club (not that it matters since we were hopeless anyway).

I think selling Isak tomorrow has the potential to work out similarly. He’s better than Carroll ever was and he won’t be a complete flop, but very few players are actually worth 100m+ and we will have people in place now that can ensure that money is reinvested and reinvested well.

Basically pre-posted my thoughts on this a few hours ago and I hope it turns out to be correct.

TBH like half the forum have been saying we should sell at all costs and then when we do they whinge. Bizarre.

There's time left in the window and all fo our previous dealings suggest we can get the best out of other players and signings.

It's annoying as fuck and I too will be right pissed off if we don't bring in others tomorrow but this is all on Isak and Liverpool not our ownership or the coaching staff.

Hopefully this is the bad apple ousted and a chance to look positively on next steps.

Master class in Comms though, the fact they've got people thinking this good is incredible work.

I think it’s, yet again, just a blinding example of how online opinion varies from offline.

Genuinely, hand on heart, this place and Twitter are the only places I hear any significant negativity to anything we do, really. In “the real world”, opinions are just a lot more simmered down and dare I say, rational.

Bro wake up fucking hell nobody wants to sell to Liverpool as they've created this situation and profited from it. We've been done like kippers.

I'm awake mate and have seen what's been getting written over the last week. Folk change their tunes as soon as there is something new to whinge about  .

Some people like to hold things to account. When someone says we will be number one that what the expectations become. When the actions don't align they get called out.

Some of our fans who are not online had a go at the same online fans protesting against Ashley. Make of that what you will.
