Isak was outstanding for 50% of last season and below average for 50% of last season. Yes, on his day he was unbelievably good, but it wasn't consistent. 

He also was out of puff after 60 minutes and didnt have the best injury record. As long as we get another striker in today (Wissa, JSL, Kolo Muani, Jackson, Watkins, Sorloth). 

Then I am ok with this.

This would be like Shearer striking after Euro 96 and a Blackburn fan being buzzing at receiving a £10m British record for him. I'm not happy at all with the fee, or even selling at all. Just get a striker in and crack on but I can't see any good in it.

I don’t see any reason to think we’ve got another striker in the bag. Doesn’t mean we won’t get one. But this seems like a “desperation” move coupled with a gamble (desperation in quotes because we didn’t have to act as desperately as we have).

This is not sour grapes, as much as it might seem it in hindsight but we all know the issues with Isak, yes he's a world class striker, but he can be a passenger, there's been plenty of games where you wouldn't know he was on the pitch, he has the endurance of a 40 a day 80 year old asthmatic constantly blowing out his arse after 60 minutes and he has a poor injury record. When you put it into perspective he's worth £125m for his goal scoring record but it's a risk with the issues that he has. Woltemade has the potential to be better, it's just a shame we didn't get time to bleed him in.

 

I think in time we won't miss him, but losing him now to them has left a huge hole in our squad and I'll never forgive him for that and Liverpool have returned to being my most hated club.

Shearer joined the club where he grew up and supports to this day. And he actually wasn't toxic, so this comparrison is a bit of creative license.

13 hours left to put this right, I have a feeling we have one of JSL or Wissa lined up and if we do then as gutting as this is we're probably in a much better position than last season.
