The only real threat to people not committing major crimes like that is prison and nothing to do with morals. It’s what makes sociopaths so dangerous, the threat of losing their freedom is no threat to them. I know stiffy, I wasn't really being serious. It's more a thought exercise than a plan or anything. I'm not even trying to persuade you as to anything as I've got far more sense than that. Just you know it's important that someone peridocially posts a counterpoint to your deluge of posts. And I countered your counter with logic and facts of the situation. You’ve got nothing left to say about my points because they are valid. So you are resorting to personal stuff. This was PIF vs FSG as much as anything. They took the strategic decision to bully Newcastle United. Unafraid of upsetting one of their footballing cash cows. Question is - why did Liverpool feel so comfortable bullying Newcastle? @r0cafella @Kanj @Lotus what do you think?

Haz
I refuse to believe someone woke up this morning and said Fuck it, get rid. This was decided some time and it would be complete humiliation save for Wissa on his way.

I think your right, I don't think ouf owners are emotionally invested in the club we are an item in the portfolio. Liverpool are the apex of of FSGs football business where as the same can't be said for us and PIF. Other than Eddie we lack expertise and nouse when it comes to football matters partly due to a string of poor appointments.
TRon
This has been badly handled. If we were going to sell it would have made more sense to do it right from the start, that way we would have got Ekitke.

Because our owners are not as invested in NUFC as they are to other Saudi ventures including their own league.

Does that apply to Nunez, Trent, and Konate? They've been bailed out three times by Saudi and will be again next summer with Salah to Saudi. If we got 40M from Saudi for Willock and 20M for Targett, I'm sure we'd be more active in the market too.

Because they unsettled a mercenary player and greedy agent and engineered a move? After wasting millions on another striker beforehand? Not a typical business strategy IMO Edited September 1, 2025 by AyeDubbleYoo

Parsley
Sounds as if Wissa travelled up last night so I suspect we received some encouragement from Brentford that led to us sanctioning the sale. If true, it looks at least a little more calculated than it did last night.

I guess because Isak and his agent were desperate for the move to happen and willing to go on strike.

Did we make Milan look weak when we signed a world class midfielder from them? We are behind Liverpool in the pecking order today. In 5 years' time, we will be much closer to them. The goal is to grow revenues yearly.

Isak and Ekitike will be lethal together and we know they have Richard Masters in their back pocket so will never get any PSR comeuppance.

Geordie Magpie
When this is deal the club statement simply has to be. " Alexander Isak has completed a move to Liverpool" No acknowledging or thanking for anything the rat has done for us.
