This whole thing will send you mental if you let it. Ornstein's just been saying "Isak made is clear at the start of this season that this would be he last and certainly it appears that his chapter at Newcastle is closed"

3 years on his contract.

Romano "Isak still insisting on moving to LFC"

3. Years. On. His. Fucking. Contract

I’m absolutely certain at the start of the summer he was saying that he felt the Isak deal was unlikely and he’d given no indication that he would agitate to leave.  He obviously has now but I don’t know where it has came from that Isak said this was his last season with us

I’m sure Caulkin said the same thing. I’m absolutely certain in my mind Pedro & Ekitike were lined up as Isak replacements

Not sure why this is a thing. Liverpool were easily capable of affording our valuation of Isak. It makes no difference.

Who know but it's not gonna help.  We are the ONLY club that cannot benefit from the over inflated fees they are paying.

Wise words indeed

There’s far more important and valuable things in life than football transfer posts on social media

All well and good Howe saying to Isak "you have to earn the right to play for Newcastle". But then if Isak says to that "but I don't want to play for Newcastle anyway".  That doesn't leave you many options realistically.

I'd rather he go now, get over and done with, can't be doing with seeing him half arse it around the pitch every week.

Listened to that full Athletic podcast with Ornstein. Seems the likelihood of Isak being here is slim, even if we don’t get the striker.  I do wonder if that’s the final kidney punch of this experiment of a transfer window

Why would his performances be half arsed? As others have pointed out Ronaldo, Suarez, Modric and Kane have been in similar situations and stayed another year and performed

No chance that happening. Howe would quit most likely mate.

The final nail in the window would be Liverpool using the Nunez Saudi money to pay for Isak

There’s no way we sell Isak and not sign a striker :D Ornstein chatting pure shit.

Everyone said they were all talking shite with Sesko, turned out they weren’t.

Ornstein is on the payroll of course he’s feeding that narrative. Isak can mope around half arsed if he chooses, the reality is that he’ll start to destroy his own career and he’ll become less attractive to buyers.

I don’t give a fuck about Isak anymore as long as we get a big enough fee. I’m more frustrated and concerned about what we will actually get through the door, both in quality as well as in numbers.

We cannot start the season with Gordon as our striker

I think the most likely scenario is that he leaves in this window for a fee somewhere in the middle of the first offer and what we want and we look to replace him next year.

I agree and get your point. But even if Isak stays he won’t be starting for the first month or so anyway. Getting players in is imperative.

There’s no way in a million years we sell Isak without at least one striker in :D Why the fuck would we be happy to end the window with no recognised striker in our ranks all because he wants to explore his options? He’s explored his options, he wants to leave and we’re saying nope, not this summer, it’s next.
