Not sure about rewarding his behaviour this summer with an extra £40k a week mind, fuck that, sets a very dangerous precedent. In fact I'd be looking at bumping the likes of Tino, Bruno, Tonali & Hall as a reward for not being a cunt and having a little public tantrum to try and force their way out of the club.

Isak can fuck clean off, he's hardly scraping by and extending his overdraft each month ffs. Nah, reward the professionals and let this cunt fucking stew for a couple of months. Had he gone about things differently this summer then I'd have had no qualms about bumping him up a little but not now, fuck him the snidey little cunt

I got zero issues with him playing again if he u-turns. Members of the squad might.

Its part of football and generally all agent driven. Plus we love a good redemption arc.

I do think we will sell him if we get 140m with some ad ons. He is going now or next summer regardless. Now it's out there I'd rather its him than the likes of Bruno/Tonali. We will need to sell someone for big money sooner or later.

Bruno signed a new contract with a wage rise in October 2023, which extended his commitment for two years, until 2028.

Gordon signed a new contract in October 2024, with a pay rise, extending to 2030.

Isak is under contract until 2028.  If he's willing to extend until 2030 (without a release clause that would make the contract term meaningless) then go for it, with a healthy pay bump.  Make him the top earner at the club.  Even give him a guarantee that he always will be top earner. But if he isn't -- if he just wants more money, a favourable release clause and no extension beyond 2028 -- which I'm sure is the case, then give him nothing.  Tell him to honour his contract.  I honestly don't think he wants a new extended contract. He just wants to go.

My point was in hindsight mate, not now after the unrest.

I tell you what Michail, poor Isak that’s paid £120k a week and refusing to go to work on a contract he signed. Yeah we’re treating him like meat…

Footballer detached from the real world shocker!

If he wants to highlight players being moved around like pieces of meat then that's fine - start looking across London and pointing the finger in Chelsea's direction, eh? Fuckers have been stockpiling players and using them as gambling chips to play/trade with for years now. They're the original footballing puppy-farm but he ignores them and points the finger at us instead?

I'm sad he got hurt in a car crash but his opinions aren't worth a bucket of shit tbh. Cunt needs to open his eyes and identify the real issues

He's the best striker in world football. He's been a cunt, but he's our cunt. Well move on from this like the Liverpool fans did with Gerrard. His behaviour has been terrible but we can't replace him. Maybe he's been misguided. He's still only 25. I remember doing loads of weird shit I look back on and regret into my 30s

If he doesn't move this window I'd take him to one side and tell him he has a future here if he knuckles down and plays for the club and the fans.

Then if he does that give him his wage increase and hopefully that sorts the situation out.

Tell him we can't offer 300k pw but will be able to manage 200k plus bonuses for assists goals and performance.

I don't think there is a short term or long term environment at Newcastle where Isak remains given what has happened. His behaviour has been awful and that will create friction whether it be short term or long term for players and staff, it will 100% be there.

Also agree with what others have said and I'm completely not in favour of rewarding him with a new contract following this ordeal, it would be an absolute joke.

His ability and record deserves a pay rise, his attitude does not, I do think there is chance for redemption though.

As much as he's been a nonce tier cunt, it's all set up for him to fire in the winner in the 2nd game, do the pistol celebration then angily slap his chest.

There's 0 chance he is involved in that game. The whole no pre-season reason will be used to keep him out of the squad altogether.

There’s definitely been a shift in tone this evening from a few

Feels like Isak's agent has probably been told by Liverpool "Sorry pal, it hasn't worked out. Have you seen how much Newcastle are asking??!"

Look, if Isak's staying, he absolutely needs to sign a new contract. Otherwise, next summer, with two years left on his current deal, we're in the same mess. He needs a 2- or 3-year deal, taking him to 2030, with a release clause for foreign and English clubs, and a deadline (June 30th, in my opinion) if we don't get Champions League, and so on.

If he stays on the same terms, we're screwed next summer. We'd have to sell to get the most money as the window closes.

He needs to sign a new deal, simple as that.

I reckon he will be back training with the team this week, then towards the end of the week/early next week we get the new contract news leaked. And the PR campaign begins, then the lad goes onto to have a season for the ages...

And then he fucks off next Summer for a (slightly) reduced min release clause.

he’s going next season wether we give him a new deal or not so not sure how we are screwed. Think we all agree he goes next summer if not in the next few weeks

Now a likelyhood Isak signs a new deal?  I suspect the context is depending on what’s said before the clip starts

I did mention to you that these journalists blow with the wind. I am very interested to hear what Hope has to say about this and Ornstein too.
