he’s going next season wether we give him a new deal or not so not sure how we are screwed. Think we all agree he goes next summer if not in the next few weeks

I think the club disagrees with you on that. Dont look at it from your perspective. Look at it from the clubs.

As Ben said If he stays he has to sign a new deal.

The club will want to give him a new deal. Likely as part of reintegration and getting him motivated. As far as us being screwed I doubt it. He goes next summer wether he signs a new deal or not.

If he wants to highlight players being moved around like pieces of meat then that's fine - start looking across London and pointing the finger in Chelsea's direction, eh? Fuckers have been stockpiling players and using them as gambling chips to play/trade with for years now. They're the original footballing puppy-farm but he ignores them and points the finger at us instead?

I'm sad he got hurt in a car crash but his opinions aren't worth a bucket of shit tbh. Cunt needs to open his eyes and identify the real issues

I was going to say, I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with the sentiment but he choose entirely the wrong example to back up his viewpoints  I usually lean on the sides of the player as clubs get away with a shit tonne of bullshit too and as much they make a lot of money their wealths pale in comparison to the owners so I don't usually like to defend the multi times over billionaires.

But in this case I don't think Isak has a leg to stand on really, he's been an utter cunt to everyone involved and there's no real way of defending it.

I don't think he deserves one after the way he's acted but from the clubs perspective I think it's wise, they can protect themselves with clauses and even extend the amortisation to reduce PSR spend, plus Isak gets extra incentive to stay and play so it's a win/win.

Look, if Isak's staying, he absolutely needs to sign a new contract. Otherwise, next summer, with two years left on his current deal, we're in the same mess. He needs a 2- or 3-year deal, taking him to 2030, with a release clause for foreign and English clubs, and a deadline (June 30th, in my opinion) if we don't get Champions League, and so on.

If he stays on the same terms, we're screwed next summer. We'd have to sell to get the most money as the window closes.

He needs to sign a new deal, simple as that.

Let's say he signs a new deal exactly as you've described.

How would we be any better off next summer, if he kicks off again the same way he has this summer?

The only justification for a new contract would be if you think that (1) it'll put him in such a better frame of mind that he decides he wants to stay after all and give 100% and (2) it won't infuriate the rest of the playing staff.

According to a recently departed player, Isak downed tools after the final both in training and matches - he’s done here.

He also pulled out of both Liverpool and Arsenal away last season.

I’m astonished as he seemed a good egg.

It’ll be up there if not worse than Owen’s ovation when he comes back to SJP.

Shit-house.

Yeah, that was 100% the reason why Wilson left  Jesus fucking christ I hope nobody believes that.

IF he's said that to Shay, which I doubt, it's 100% ego and 0% truth.

I know the more Isak acts the prick now the more people will buy into this conspiracy.

But have to say I think it's complete bullshit.

Mind, all this stay, sign a deal and leave next year stuff. Fuck that. Sign a new deal and you're here, if not, you get paid your salary and if we don't get an offer like we want this year, then guess what mug lips, you're staying again. Final year we'll take £100m, still not from Liverpool though.

Of course it's utter shit, Wilson left because we played a disinterested Isak ahead of him? No shit Callum, you're worse than Isak's corpse at this point.

Aye, I mean if it was even close to true then there's no way he'd be anywhere near that last minute pen at Brighton.

I do agree where others have said if he stays for this season he will be gone next.

Think that seems pretty obvious and buys us some time to not knee jerk react in the market with a player we don't really want or need.

It's just delaying the inevitable if he stays. We may get this season out of him, but that'll be it.
