Any bets on the next story? Lewis Hall to Real Madrid? Or just the same old Bruno stories?

Pretty sure any of us can do the jobs that football journalists do nowadays.[emoji38]

80m? No way @Conjo it’s 9 digit minimum.

He's worth it, but if there is interest from one of the very top elite teams and if he wants to leave I think we'll eventually cave in the negotiations in fear of not being able to get anything for him at the end of his contract. Could be dead wrong though

Unlikely scenario though. Most likely he's here banging them in for us for years to come.

I think somewhere in the 90's would be a reasonable fee for him - if we can get more then great.

But who would replace him? Got to be someone who will fit in with our team and tactics.

Not that I want him to go - hes an amazing player. And he'll score even more with proper service from the right wing position.

You are Joe Kinnear and I claim my £5

That contract runs out in July 2028 though... So there's seriously no rush. Unless he spits the dummy, and I think he's bright enough to know that if a club's offering £80m-£90m for him, they're clowns who aren't taking buying him seriously.

Basically the only way I’d sell him is if we got enough to fund 2 quality strikers as a replacement. Wilson (  )will be off in the summer so we already need one in.

100%. £80m is an insult.

£150m.

 It isn't, though. That matches the highest fee ever paid by a PL club for a striker (excluding Chelsea (Lukaku)).

Anyway, it's surely a moot point for now. He's not going anywhere any time soon, he's got it great here.

I really hate how as soon as he starts playing well the discussion always turns straight to how much people would sell him for. This fanbase needs therapy big time .

Give him 200 a week and a 2 year extension. That ties him down till 2030 when he is 30/31. We should not entertain selling him for any fee. Build the team around him, Gordon, livra, hall and botman.

If centre mids are going for 90m+ then surely you can assume someone like Isak could fetch more given the inflationary impact on football transfer fees, York.

Moisés Caicedo went for 115 million.

Even if he really wanted to leave, which hasn't really happened yet with any of our stars despite numerous of articles saying so, I think we would be able to get atleast £90m. A fee of 90-100m is a possible outcome in that case, IMO. I just don't think that he would want to leave that badly next year, even if we're not in the UCL.

If Isak were to leave, obviously I'd hope he'd only go for something truly obscene, I said so yesterday. It would have to be, in order to offset the loss of a player who puts us in the running for titles. But £80m isn't an "insult," it's an enormous transfer fee and a decent profit on what we paid.

I don't picture 9-figure transfer fees becoming a routine thing in this league tbh. There's only been four deals made which are in that bracket; two of them done by Chelsea - which is a totally unreliable barometer - and the other two were English internationals in their prime; there's always been a premium on those relative to the market. Maybe Isak would go for that but he'd be one of extremely few.

Just reacting to the 'news' story posted tbf, though I don't think discussing the hypotheticals is inherently pessimistic.

If we’re not in Europe or the champions league next season then I think he’ll probably go next summer and we’ll re-invest the money. That said I think we might have a really strong second half of the season which quieten plenty of transfer talk.
