I’m sorry £80m is a bad offer.

Havertz has been sold for £70m ish twice.

Lukaku went to Chelsea for £97.5m in his late 20’s.  Went to Man U a few years earlier for close to £80m.

Nunez went for £80m iiirc.  Hojlund £70m.

Anything less than £100m with 3 years left on his contract is a robbery. I’m sorry.  £80m isn’t a good fee if he does well again this season.

Those are the ones for me. Both pretty unproven (particularly Hojlund), whereas Isak has played for years at the top level with much higher output. 100m minimum or fuck off basically, same as Bruno

Nobody is saying £80m is a good fee. We're just speculating that we might not be able to get as much for him as many think we should under certain circumstances in a hypothetical scenario

Agreed. If its a domestic transfer, given he's a CF, you would expect him breaking the british transfer record if he's sold within the next 12 months

Yeh that’s fine. I’m just saying the floor has to be £100m if he has another good season. Given our position of power, his age, profile, contract length.

In terms of our purples he’s the most complete for his role. Or has the most elite profile/style imo.  And his main weakness is mostly ignored in the media (stamina).

It would cost us that to replace him.

How much would Osimhen be available for? With my very limited football knowledge he's the only one I could think of as a possible direct replacement that would potentially be available.

Even £100m would be of limited value. We couldn't buy a proven striker for that much unless he was 28-29 years old which rules us out for PSR reasons. There just aren't that many strikers around suited to the PL, we've seen that already with Arsenal/Chelsea/Man U flops like Havertz, Jackson and Hjolberg.

Any talk of Isak going for £80m is INSANE!

Over £100m but hopefully he's here for a long, long time!

I think he'll be gone if no CL next season mind, sadly.

I wish our flops were as good as Chelsea flop Jackson with his 6 goals and 3 assists in 11 games this season  He was about half the price we paid for Isak too.

Is there really a striker market for big sums? When you are talking £80m+, you are straight away reducing it to a handful of clubs. In Spain, the big two either don’t need a striker or won’t spend it for that figure. Italy, can’t see anyone dropping that figure. Bayern only side in Germany, and they’ve got Kane for future years. Then PSG will always be the go to for Europe, but no-one really knows what their future strategy will be.

Then it’s down to English sides, and you are likely looking at three, Arsenal / Chelsea and Man City. The latter, only if Haaland moved to one of the aforementioned European clubs (unlikely so far). Chelsea, as they always want a striker, but most likely go elsewhere in Europe for one. Then it’s Arsenal, and giving they probably need a winger / CM to freshen things up, the big outlay on a striker may not be top priority.

100% no market IMO for 2025, and by 2026 comes you’d expect a new deal signed if he keeps up same form. If not, then we can start to think a sale may happen.

IMO, he’s the purple that’s least likely to move in 2025.

Agreed.  To me £100m is the start of the convo.

Jackson will come good mind. Maybe Rasmus too. Havertz is a decent player.

Man City/Real, Barca (Lewa is 36), Juventus, Atleti, Man U, Chelsea, a random Italian club might have money.

A couple clubs could easily be in for him.

There’s so few strikers around. PSR for clubs might be the bigger issue. I think PSR is a big reason Man U or Chelsea might not get involved.

That’s the whole point though.

We don’t want to make our key players available, ideally we don’t want to sell them, and if we do, we want to make sure that we are well compensated.

In 2-3 years, our aim would be to be at the same level as the likes of Arsenal, and dare I say it Liverpool as the team to be challenging Man City. From then on how many clubs could poach him from us? You could say Real Madrid, and Barca, plus maybe Man Utd because of stature, possibly throwing in Bayern, PSG, and Liverpool, Man City being a given because of how well they do.

I absolutely don’t think we should be selling our key players to outside of those clubs, and when we do sell to those clubs, we should be asking for top dollar.

Atletico went big on Sørloth (32m euros) and Alvarez (95m euros) last summer. Is it realistic to count them in?

Apparently Napoli are looking for around £60 million as his fee has dropped due to how badly they managed his situation last summer.

Interestingly, there were noises this past weekend that he is determined to play in the Premier League next and drew up a list of clubs he'd be open to joining, and Newcastle were on the list.

Atletico always have vast sums of money to spend on players. Lots of Atletico deals look dodgy.  Ditto Juventus.

Isak is a viable option for any elite club. There’s a market for him if he performs imo. 3 of them in the PL.

No, the forum's objecting to the idea he's worth any less than that...
