 We as a forum have never considered group therapy to heal from the Ashley era, right? Should we?

Nah you need separation therapy [emoji38]

Just sell the cunt, then fold the club. Can't take much more of this. I expected at least 8 signings before July, yet here we are.

I thought the club would give us updates every few hours on our business, but no. Who the fuck runs a football club like this? Newcastle United, that's who!

Get him on an improved contract ASAP, IMO.  Make him our highest paid player, on world class money.  Try and get a year or two extension.

Then agree to a release clause, that relates to where we are in competions - in CL £180M, outside - £150M.

Reality is, he will go at somepoint, and we probably need him to financiallly.  Improve the contract and keep his value high, or accept he is going next summer, and keep it as it is.

At the end of the day, we are not currently (I know the window only recently opened) looking particularly agreesive in the transfer market.  That will almost certainly change, and deals will be done.  But to keep someone like Isak, we need to show real progress and strength in depth after this window.

It honestly feels like that's the way some people think. I'm happy to just wait and see, and when the transfer window actually closes, then we can assess if it's good, bad, or somewhere in-between

As long as you're happy then.

Be interesting to know what people should think we do if Liverpool stumped up £150m in full.

Guessing most will say reject mainly because they're a bunch of cunts.

I'd be interested to know what that would mean for us in FFP terms.

Isak is young enough that he’ll always be worth 150m+. He isn’t just a purple patch.

just keep him until he gets stroppy and then sell him to one of the Spanish giants for the same amount or more that Liverpool offer.

Some absolutely ridiculous goals in there. Including the Liverpool no offside goal.  Was his debut ffs.

I will never be happy to sell him, not until he turns shite anyhoo.

Same, I'd take a yearly 10 point deduction from FFP breaches to keep him

I will say reject it, not because they are cunts (which they are tbh) But you don't sell a world-class player to a team you are aiming to compete with in the future. They'll basically have two guaranteed 20-goal scorers. I'd rather sell to Bayern, PSG, etc., for €20 million less than any English club.

And hey, once you sell to an English team, other players, like Tino, for instance (Man City's all over him), will probably leave, 'cause you've shown you'll sell to rivals.

For that money I'd be happy to sell. But I'd also be happy to keep him and turn down that bid.

Love seeing him play for us, he's genuinely world class, and when he's fit and playing we can beat anyone in the world. Similarly though every team sells good players at some point so if he did go for some ridiculous fee then so be it.

Ridiculous the money "shoestring" Liverpool throw around while the richest club in world football is shopping down the ALDI middle isle for players to stick to PSR allowances.
