Credit to Murphy for what he has done this season for us, especially number wise as well as his work rate. Can’t praise him highly enough.

Having said that, IF we can get THE RW for us in January already, one that hits the ground running more or less from the off then it’s looking very very good going forward.

Just the idea of a technical and creative wide player coming in has me excited. One that properly improves our “in general play” as well as drawing tons of attention from the opposition allowing for more space in the channels for Isak and Bruno to operate in.

Murphy has done well recently and is inform but he can be piss poor at times too as we all know. As you say adding a genuine, bonafide RW who can create and score goals takes us up another level again and create even more space for Isak and Gordon. It would also provide far greater depth and options.

They can get these shitehawk talking heads to try and speak it in to existence all they want but if Isak leaves in the next few years it sure as hell won't be to arsenal. He's above them both in ability and cost.

Should've taken the punt on him when you had the chance, fuckers.

I think he’ll probably wait until the picture for next season becomes clearer before signing anything else.

Champions league qualification and clearly going to sign more top players in the summer he signs. Europa league he might stay but not sign a new contract, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Think if an offer of that nature or more came in, then we would consider selling, wrong for the club but financially in my mind makes sense, do wonders for our spending power, would get us 4/5 decent players in, side issue ,not been on the sherry

Who would we bring in that would score the goals he does though?

Disclaimer: I'm not advocating for us to sell Isak.

We wouldn't need to bring in someone that scores as many as he does. We could also improve the team overall that would cumulatively score more than just Isak. Bringing in a striker that just scores half the goals Isak does, but also getting someone like Mbuemo or Cunha and we're already better off in terms of goals.

We could re-sign Chris Wood.

How much would Chris Wood cost in January?

;)

He might be about to spearhead a second unfancied club to a top-4 finish in just 3 seasons....

I know, did you see his goal today? It helped that Pickford is vertically deficient. Brilliant stuff tbf.

I just hope we stick to the plan that we had, whatever that was. If anything is to be learned from the past, we should know that we shouldn't get too carried away by a purple patch. That being said, january is very difficult (especially with our PSR issues), so I don't have high hopes for this window anyways.

I wouldn’t re-sign Chris Wood if he banged in another 30 and won the balon d’or

Imagine the clarts we'd be in if we hadn't recouped a big chunk of the £25m we spent on him when we brought him here. Glad he's doing well at Forest, but also very glad we didn't screw ourselves further PSR wise by holding onto him.

Agreed, I don’t understand the hate for him - came here and was one of the first through the door with new owners, always did what was asked of him - was part of the team that marched us up from the bottom of the table, then left without any fuss when we needed him to. Yet he’s in the same camp as some others who will always get slagged off on here. I’ll never have a bad word for him personally.

I mean he didn't always do all that was asked of him. He's a striker that looked allergic to scoring goals at times.

But I'm not slagging him off, I'm one of the few that look at his time here more positively, because he played the position better than anything else we had at the time and allowed the rest of the team to function well and have such a strong finish to that season.

Aye. I'm probably one of the most willing to stick up for him on here, but I don't think you can ever criticise the decision to sell him as we did - I know most people are joking, but anyone serious needs to give their head a shake.

Now I think about it, I wonder if his sale gave us some false confidence re: the ease of buying players and worrying about balancing our PSR debt further down the road.
