Some fans being extremely impatient by writing off this loan move.

He's moved halfway across the world, playing at arguably a slightly higher level, still only 18 so there is bound to be an adjustment level.

Lots of football left to play, only fair to judge his loan move at the end of the season.

There is an argument that he should have went to a lower level for this part of the season - the SPL is a step up from the A League and he wasn’t getting a game there.

But he’s getting minutes for a good side in a half-decent league.  He’ll also be adjusting to life on the other side of the planet for the first time.  Patience needed, I think - it looks like some have built this lad up in their own head in terms of the standard he’s at.  He’s raw as buggery, there’s talent there but who knows how he’ll progress.  There’ll be loads of these signings in the coming years - this is what the likes of Chelsea and Man City do all the time.  Some will pay off and become members of the squad, others will be sold on for a profit.  Let’s see which category he falls into n

Be a couple of years before we know one way or the other , whether he'll get there. Football is littered with excellent potential that went down the tubes due to far to many games at a young age, how do we think young Rigg ?, Mackem 15yr old will survive, could be burnt out in a couple of years .Plenty of time see how it goes.

Some comments on Kuol from our manager this week:

“We just played a Scottish Cup tie on a Friday night on astroturf, it was bucketing down with rain, a 200-miles-an-hour game. You can actually end up hindering young players like that by putting them into those situations”

“He is in a different continent in a different culture playing a different style of football,” explained Neilson. “We have an interpreter getting the language across to him so that he understands what we are trying to do (for Oda) It's going to take time. He just needs to take his 20 minutes here and 30 minutes there.

He is a young kid so there are certain games he will start and others when he will come on. It's about development for both of them.”

I think our Sunday game is on the box. 12pm kick-off.

Motherwell after being shite for weeks have a new manager and got a result at the weekend.

Our usual front 3 of Mckay/Shankland/Ginnelly won't be happening as Ginnelly is suspended. That means its between Humphrys and Kuol for a starting slot. Humphrys will probably get the nod as he's on a hot streak but that should mean Kuol will get more minutes when one of the front three needs replaced.

Interview with Humphrys (Kuol's competitor for a start) for anyone that is interested (probably not many but hey ho!) He's on loan from Wigan, but trust me, nearly every championship/league one player we have loaned has not cut it up here and went home with their tail between their legs so its been a nice change to have someone who's turning it on. Kuol has also made a positive impact so our loan business seems to be getting better.

Around about now Kuol will be thinking: "What the fuck have I done coming here?"

They don't get him, they don't get the way he plays and they sure as fuck don't know how to use him.

In most games, Kuol will be the fastest man on the pitch. Get him into open space and then reap the whirlwind. It aint rocket science.

  • 2 weeks later...

Would kill for a bit of invention like that in our team at the moment... A right foot on the right wing. It'll never take off.
