It's amazing how it's so easy to figure out, but nobody has actually managed to figure it out with any consistency, given our results since the Blessed One arrived.

I saw Watkins was now your second highest scorer in the Premier League behind Gabby, and was surprised that you had only three above 50 goals. Then I saw Newcastle only have one - Alan Shearer - since Cole left after two years in the Prem. Is this true? Seems a bit mental.

Callum Wilson is second on 47.

All our decent scorers apart from Shearer were only here briefly in PL era - Les, Cole, Beardsley, Ba - or always injured (Wilson, Owen) or not been here long yet (Isak).

Genuinely surprised me. Obviously you’ve been in and out of the Prem but we have loads over 50 - even Chris Armstrong has 48 for us FFS. I guess I presumed someone would have been around long enough but Bellamy didn’t score as many league goals as I remembered and Shola somehow only got to 43 after all those years.

Had 14 years where if we had someone capable of putting the ball in the net fairly regularly, they were generally sold sharpish

@Disco just wondering if you had any thoughts on Bobby Martinez's face after the Duran goal?

If he’s a true believer of Jhon > John then I’m here for it. I’ve only seen it back once but I’m not so sure it’s anything other than your standard long range “blooter” (Lawro, 2013).

This 👆 I don’t think it was even in thunderbastard territory either. Hate to say it but would a keeper with normal sized arms have been able to stop it?

Just standard reaction ain’t it? Always find Martinez a really good speaker actually given he’s a bellend of absolute catastrophic proportions on the field.

Aware of the first world-esque problem here but does anybody else watch Sky Go on an Apple TV? The quality is so so bad. Almost painful to watch, looks to be barely SD.

Yeah, Sky just absolutely throttle the quality of none HD, and I don’t think they show HD without it being a main connection. Even if you watch the HD channels on Sky go, I think they only provide SD quality.
