"There'll be more big games" UEFA said, looking at tonights games I somehow feel like what they said would happen isn't worth the sacrifice of having an absolute shit show of a system for all these 'big games'

Did he really say that?

Honestly, I need to check it. Can't trust twitter haha. Not sure he would say "tourist club", that would be wild.

Yeah, seems like it didn't happen.

The atmosphere at Liverpool is notoriously bad especially since the extension but they complained about it long before that. Must be the acoustic design. Even though it wasn't a problem with a flat and open (not keeping the sound in) one-tier stadium until the mid 90s.

I mean, he’s not wrong, but yeah, does seem fake.

Can just imagine the fume on Merseyside if he did come out with something like this though.

They could just bring in those speakers Arteta used to play You'll never walk alone in training.

Indeed, but I doubt we'll hear footballers calling them tourist club after the game, even if it's true haha.

Seems ridiculous to type it out when you look at his career and his numbers. But Mbappe really does seem overrated compared to the small handful of elite players you would be comparing him to in recent years.

I regularly watch him and just wonder what it is he’s meant to bring other than mad pace? He never does any work off the ball or defensively. Which is fine to a point if your attacking output is always that good. But it is often lacking.

Could it be a case of too much too young and it has fucked him mentally and physically? As the last year or so at PSG and now at RM. He doesn’t seem anything like the player that conquered the world with France.

Not having been to Anfield for decades I can only comment on what I hear on TV and it sounds better than any ground anywhere ever so I can only assume what you are saying is just jealousy. Or is there another possibility?

I thought he was crazy good at time in the last world cup. Atleast in terms of output, scoring 8 in a single World Cup and a hat trick in the final is wild. Ever since that I haven't really been all that impressed. Currently I'd rather have Haaland in my team, despite Mbappe being better in the build up. I wonder though, Mbappe himself has stated that he wants to play LW. Maybe he's just better there? Did he not play LW for France in that World Cup?

Connor Bradley was immense. Good leverage for them with the Trent contract

Already suffering hamstring injuries. Bit concerning at such a young age.

Why does the Liverpool manager need to be fucking normal and likeable?

Quote

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on whether his side's injuries have been underplayed: "In general people only talk about injuries if the results are not there so it's a good thing that nobody has talked about ours because it means we've got our results.

"The moment you start to lose it's about kick-off times or it's about injuries - we always come up with certain ideas why we didn't win, especially me, but nine times out of 10 it's about the quality of the opposition and their game plan.

"We do have some very important players injured but if the replacements do so well then it's normal that people don't talk about it much.

"Missing Alisson, missing Diogo Jota, missing Trent in the last two games - those are players that have had a lot of impact in recent years but it's a good thing that we don't talk about it."

Bodo and/or Glimt bringing a quarter of the town with them.

Probably should have just stayed at home. 1-0. Keeper makes Nick Pope look like Riquelme.
