I don't want to sound patronising, as that's not the intention, but Bournemouth is the exact level of team from the "Big 5" Leagues that the Conference League was made for, teams like them, Heidenheim, Vitoria de Guimaraes, and Betis. Somewhat smaller clubs that maybe didn't have a chance of getting into Europe before hand, given the chance to go on a European adventure for having a half decent season. If a team like Rangers can get in the Europa League final two times in 15 or so years then the biggest team in Greece should be doing better in either the Europa or CL. In all fairness, I think it’s a fair argument that the top 5 UEFA nations shouldn’t have a team competing within it. Chelsea playing their reserves in the 1st leg of the quarter final is enough to see them through to the semi-finals. It is very likely that the other semi-final is to be contested between Spain’s and Italy’s representatives. Last year saw Italy’s representative get to the final, the year before the English and Italian representatives got to the final, and they year before that which was it’s inaugural edition, the Italian representative won it.
