Absolutely lost on me. I wouldn’t swap any NUFC trophy for an England one.

Optimistic Nut Posted Saturday at 22:21 Share Posted Saturday at 22:21 (edited) I know you can get random massacres like tonight anytime, but we can't be surprised that PSG who've beaten the best two teams in England would destroy a team who've just lost a title to a team whose midfield has had ex-Man Utd, Fulham, Bournemouth & Brighton midfielders. Pretty damning for where Serie A is now. Edited Saturday at 22:22 by Optimistic Nut

Pretty damning for where Serie A is now. No doubt the league is miles away from where it was in the past. The economics simply aren't there to compete with the PL and state owned clubs (with no PSR) like PSG. The fact the clubs are still finding ways to get to finals is impressive when you look at the financial gulf and despite everything still second in UEFA coefficient rankings. Which I don't know what that says about the state of play in European football in general TBF. For all PSG's success the level of investment in one club has turned Ligue 1 into a non event. 21 points clear this year. Brest actually did OK this year in the CL but then got beat 10-0 on aggregate by PSG.
andycap Posted Saturday at 22:51 Share Posted Saturday at 22:51 It was the ease of how they swatted inter aside that was impressive. I thought psg would win but I thought it would of been like the city final against them 1 or 2 goals.
ponsaelius Posted Saturday at 23:03 Share Posted Saturday at 23:03 I've enjoyed watching PSG this season and they're a brilliantly coached team while actually being entertaining - but there's some weird narrative built around them being almost overachieving(?) just because they've shed Mbappe/Neymar/Messi. This team still has by far the highest wage bill in the world and they've spent 700 million euros on transfer fees in the last two seasons alone

Mazzy Posted yesterday at 01:18 Share Posted yesterday at 01:18 Why such outrage about the Linkin Park stuff before the game? Van Basten really went in on it and plenty of the usual moaners complaing on Twitter. I get it's not for everyone, I don't care for it but if you're just want to watch the football, turn it on when the game is due to kick off. Big drama about nothing. That's how I handle the Super Bowl in the US, wait till kickoff. Best pre-game was the Seekers before I think 1994 Grand Final. Hope nobody missed that. Not a peep from him about owners like the Glazers rapaciously stripping money out of a community asset or Chelsea’s backhanders, accounting frauds, Clueless-esque shopping sprees and needless hoarding / ruining of players on 8 year deals. Treating supporters’ cash like Monopoly money.

wyn davies Posted yesterday at 07:58 Share Posted yesterday at 07:58 with all their superstars , would PSG hack it in the Premier league something tells me no. One off games yeah they would , but playing against teams up in the frozen north and against championship teams in domestic cup games on clarty pitches perhaps not. Treating supporters’ cash like Monopoly money. Many things can be true at the same time. I agree Manchester United or Chelsea are ruining the game. So were Mike Ashley’s NUFC. Though I can see why he would have a problem with state backed clubs as well. I think Delaney’s problem is that he doesn’t seem to be consistent.
