You would've been happy if we paid £50-60M for Elanga?

You have to consider the Vlach 20m

Anderson £35m

Vlach (£20m)

Net £15m

Anderson £35m

Elanga (£50m)

Net (£15m)

Seeing him perform this season, I think he'd have been a great addition for around £30m, like a better Murphy imo. Though hindsight and all that

There's that 'not good enough' Elanga again.

yes, not for 50-60 million. He is a quick version of Jacob Murphy and ran past Lewis Dunk, who seems to be as fast as I am nowadays

I’m not saying he’s ONLY good in transition, I said he is great in that role. He’s a decent player outside of that, and I advocated for signing him in summer ‘23.

I don’t feel his attributes are best suited for us anymore though, and I think we could get more out of a different player.

(Forest would also want big money for him now).

Ah, fair enough then

Should have been all over it when he left Man Utd.

Do disagree his attributes are not suited though.

Especially when you see what we're getting out of Murphy in that position.

That was the price quoted when we tried on the last day of the window.

Long before such a high price was ever even mentioned when he was linked previously, he was being disparaged on here.

I tend to ignore NO opinions on a player mostly, especially as I don't watch other teams much. When we were constantly linked with Elanga and people here kept bashing him I was flummoxed because generally when we chase a player persistently, he tends to be pretty good. Gordon is a great example of this.

Every time I've seen Elanga this season he's been pretty impressive. He's not the finished article but I think Forest got him at a great price.
