Sure, I wouldn't swap positions, just annoying how they were able to add proven quality when they needed it.

They’ve gambled in a different way to what we did last season.

 

We gambled in sense of knowing FFP was going to fuck us but didn’t move anyone on in gamble to get back into Europe.

 

Villa have gambled by buying to get into Europe. 
 

Worthwhile gamble by Villa because it’s indirectly resulted in a domestic cup run which has giving them a great chance of a cup.

Meslier has cost them breathing room between automatic promotion and playoffs. That one against the Mackem's was bad too.

Darlow has at least played 5 games for Wales this season, so I guess in terms of game time it's not too dissimilar to a standard non designated cup playing keeper for most teams. He would have been playing with the likes of Rodon, James and Ampadu in those games as well, which won't hurt. I think it makes sense, you're kind of expecting an error from Meslier every other game these days.

 the liverpool goal shouldn't have stood I don't think. the lad plays a through ball to diaz fair enough he didn't touch it but surely that brings him into play.
