A lot of Everton’s energy will go into this weekend’s final game of the season. They won’t play a weakened team, but half of their players will be on the beach when they face us.

Its the old adage, if we can’t beat Everton at home then we don’t deserve Champions League (assuming we don’t win this weekend)

If Man Utd can play a similar line-up at home to Villa next Sunday, maybe there's a glimmer of hope when it comes to dropped points. The final already played, go out on a high etc. But I hate myself for even typing that out.

I guarantee you that if we win the final, we'll beat Villa.

I still found it amazing that the bookies thought Villa had a difficult run-in

They did, if you only look at the names of their opponents.

Some of these matches I've watched in recent weeks have been a disgrace. I've probably watched fixed Italian games that have more sporting integrity.

League has been a joke since about February with 75% of the league not having anything to play for.

In Italy clubs with something riding on it used to incentivise clubs in the Man United and Spurs roles with a deal on a player, a loan, part-ownership or something. Always maintained that's less 'cheating' than clubs nursing their way through games that they took seriously against others prior

It's not just that, it's that other teams had to fall off.

Best piece of quality on the pitch tonight was the steward who took out the streaker at the end. Rare to see such commitment in the tackle these days and locked in from 20 yards out.

As great as it would have been to book our top 5 position last night, Villa and Chelsea were never gonna lose to relegation fodder. We will beat Arsenal tomorrow and be responsible for our own fate, a couple of extra days of hope was all that was achieved yesterday, let them fight it out for 4th/5th.

At least one of Man Utd and Spurs will get what they deserve and come to regret how they’ve treated the league. The loser of the final will have a broken manager, a team that finished bottom quarter of the league, a livid fanbase and a big hit to the finances, not to mention a shit squad.

Im pretty sure it will be spurs in this position, and they’ll have no one to blame but themselves

Think on balance I would rather Palace won it, nothing can take away from our achievement anyway.

Don't really care like.

Totally agree with this mate.

Don't care. I prefer ManC as a club, but wouldn't begrudge Palace their first ever major trophy. It'd be good to see trophies shared around a bit more after decades of  a handful of clubs totally dominating.

It's about time Crystal Palace justified their existence. Hopefully they win and in doing so give the FA Cup a bit of a boost too. Competition feels on its arse these days; a succession of barely interested winners is one of many reasons for that. It being on a PL weekend is another, like.
