Football died when the terracing vanished, and players started earning more than half a million a year. Respect for managers diminished and (at the top of Football anyway) many players have lost motivation due to them being rich before their career even starts. Season tickets cost more than the average mortgage and the 'steak' in the pies is mystery meat.

On the bright side however, keepers can't pick up a passback anymore, and Donald Trump is a Chelsea legend. Which is nice.

It's pigeon pie...

I'll be honest everything you've all been saying this summer is how I felt a decade ago. Granted it seems like it's gotten worse. (Somehow)

I watched the highlights of the game against Villa this morning and though to myself why am I doing this

Every season is another step towards canning it off completely. My 4 soon to be 5 year old is just starting to take an interest however and the little rat started singing a Man United song the other day.

NUFC kit for his bday and up to SJP asap.

Have to say, they didn't win, but it was disappointing to see Chelsea not look like the gutless team I've become accustomed to over the last few years. A bit more tenacity and bite against a physical Palace side.

It’s so ingrained . I made the pilgrimage to White Hart Lane on a bit of a whim yesterday because I was genuinely excited about the new season. If we weren’t completely skint (new puppy plus other stuff) we’d probably have tried to get tickets for either Spurs or Leyton Orient. There’s still something important there, but it’s buried under heaps of manure.

Yeah like I'm happy I got out, I'm wayyyyyyy happier of a person for it but I get why people stay around.

There's a level of community (a vastly important thing in life) around it that isn't always easy to find.

I think I have mentally checked out on all of this circus right now, whatever match it is I am struggling to care.

We played well yesterday but it's not really the release it used to be. Fair play to those that still do and have a blast this season.

Yeah like for me it's easier because it's just me, if I had family involved it's a completely different story.

Good luck in keeping the bairn away from Man Yoo btw
