Looks like we're gonna be spared any of the usual yoyo-ers this time around, which is good to see. Could do without Hull or Millwall mind; be mint if Derby could do it.

Wouldn’t mind Millwall seeing as they’ve never played in the Prem. Hull has a perennial Bruce stink about them.

I'd like to see Millwall in the PL myself for the same reasons, although I imagine there'd be a lot of people aged 50+ who support us and various current PL clubs who had some interesting experiences at the Old Den in the late 80s and early 90s, and even more recently at the new ground, who'd rather they stayed where they are

You're a good egg, Yorkie

Up there with missing out on John Solako so signing Ginola instead as far as blessings in disguise go.

Was Sir Les a replacement of sorts for missing out on Chris Armstrong or have I completely made that up? I remember the Solako/Ginola one but I remember we were desperate to get a striker in after Cole left despite having Kitson.

I remember us being linked with Armstrong loads. Didn't he have a connection with us, like from here or something? I remember us being linked with Ferdinand just as much, if not more, like. Was really underwhelmed by that signing at the time

With hindsight we were spoiled a bit like.

I wasn't sure of the timelines, but it seems it was around the time Cole was sold that we were in for him. Palace were cucks then, taking less from Spurs than we offered, it turns out. I remember the Geordie links being played heavily at the time, but Wikipedia says he moved away when he was just 3.

Aye, there was definitely Geordie links being used as part of the story when I read it back then, mostly through the Chronicle, mind.

Another name that just crossed my mind that I think we were linked with at the time but again, could just be me making it up was Jean Pierre-Papin. Tried to find links to it but couldn't so could just be dreaming it up. My memory doesn't recall us being linked with Ginola but then, it happened. I'm sure not getting any younger these days.

Feel like every Galatasaray game I watch is absolutely peak entertainment albeit the sample size is not very big. They’re always wide open and don’t seem to play with any structure at all.
