Thank the Gods for Spurs and LinkedIn Liam for providing us with some joy this season. I'd be forever grateful if we could also finish the season with an Arsenal bottle job and Sunlun missing out on Europe.

Leicester going down feels like the opposite side of those bargain questions people ask. Would you take going down to League One if it meant winning the Premier League and FA Cup?

Wouldn’t even care if we did a Macclesfield Town after winning the PL and FA Cup.

obviously being hyperbolic but I reckon I’d take a relegation or two in exchange for winning the league. Leicester’s title is one of the greatest achievements in the modern game.

Attendance figures are tickets sold, they include people who have tickets not turning up.

Aye, we all had a good laugh at our hillbilly neighbours on Wearside posting attendances that had no correlation to the huge swathes of empty seats in their ground.

I checked and got their capacity at 41841, no idea if that's correct or not now? Smaller capacity than advertised would explain it a bit, aye

Stand by things being at a bit of a crossroads - tickets are ridiculous and genuine fans are gradually being priced out of grounds. Tourists with money to burn are sitting where long-standing fans used to more and more now. You can only inflate things so much until everything bursts

Think 40,300 is about right at the moment, but it seems to have fluctuated a little over the years as they’ve changed the configuration.

Anyhoo, the bigger point you make is the important one. Chelsea owners don’t want the traditional working class fans from West London, Slough etc in the ground, they want the tourists paying megabucks for tickets who then sit and film the game on their phones.

Same applies to NUFC.

Only a matter of time before Slopkinson introduces the equivalent of this in the SW Corner:

They lost about 500 off their capacity when they installed 12,000 safe standing places due to having to widen certain aisles. I think when you take into account segregation your 40,300 figure won't be far off.
