Not even comparable situations. Bassey judo threw Mount to the ground just as he came up to him ffs

Eh? So tackling someone to the ground from behind is ok. Throwing someone to the ground that runs into you isn’t?

They’re comparable as they are both fouls FFS. But you’re deciding one is ok and one isn’t?!

Rugby tackles ok in the laws of the game now?!

I agree with you. My problem is the same foul done at the other end isn't getting punished. As soon as I heard about the rule change I knew it would be selectively applied.

This is why I never get too overly annoyed with Pope's kicking as maybe some do, because the bread and butter for keepers needs to be to atleast command your area and be dominant on crosses. Pope never seems to fail in that department.

Hopefully. They need to stop the holding at corners TBF.

It was a clear foul. He judo threw him head over heels.

The issue is that Shaw was also committing a foul behind that incident, so it's a bit silly to give a penalty.

Bruno's head is in the clouds here. Worst half I've seen from him.

There’s going to be a lot of penalties this season if those are the rules!

I'll be amazed if we see a big club getting penalties awarded against them for it.

Interestingly if two fouls are being simultaneously made by opposing sides- I don't know what the rule is there...I'd have to assume play-on?

Well they've at least addressed that here, saying that the Shaw foul happened slightly after the foul on Mount.

Isn't Mbuemo pretty good on pens?

Fernandes one of the best we've ever had on pens and just had a rare shocker. He never hits them with power and normally just feints the keeper and rolls it to the other side. It was a very strange penalty for him.

It'll not only be selectively applied but will be like a few seasons ago when they had a "clampdown," which lasted a few months, and it'll be forgotten about again or Howard Webb makes PL-exclusive rules up.

Until they start giving 5-6 pens a game for those fouls nothing will change, but they haven't got the balls. It got swept under the carpet last time because Mike Dean I think was giving pens for it but no-one else was.

Saha young and neville

Its virtually mutv

Saha played more for Fulham than he played for us. And we all hate Neville on comms for us. He goes out of his way to be unbiased and is just miserable.

Getting a bit RTG in here in regards to the pen. Clear as day and you'd be shouting at the TV if it was against us.

We'd be shouting at the TV because it would never be given for us.  Thats the point, its the kind of thing everyone thinks should be a pen, but that never actually gets given as one.  The question is will they actually start to give these as penalty's for everyone.  Or will it just be on the odd occasion when they want certain teams to win.

Spot on this.

Hopefully Bruno carries on this half.

If you look at the slow motion replay Mount hadn't even made contact before Bassey was in the process of throwing him over his back, with great hip technique I might add  It's so blatantly a foul I don't see the rationale of chirping on about an otherwise normal (albeit illegal) tackle that Shaw did which you see multiple times every fucking game. I wish refs had balls to take that stuff out of the game, even if it takes a few months of 10 pentalties per game, but atm they aren't. Basseys judo throw was in any case worse.

Pretty much said that before the season started these will be given, so not fully sold on the conspiracy just yet.

We like a good tussle. Can see them going against us, which is probably the reason it's been brought in.
