A goal goes in and you immediately think ‘keeper should be doing better there.’ A bit like when the game started transitioning to more teams playing it out from the back and defenders were getting stick for just not being able to defend. I wonder if the move to more and more keepers being involved in the build up and being great on the ball. Has led to a drop off in quality in the art of actual goalkeeping? A lot of managers have prioritised having a keeper that can contribute to build up play over traditional fundamentals.
