Free stadium, London location, money to spend. £100m homegrown windfall. Honestly think the Lopetegui appointment is up there on the very competitive list of stupidest decisions made by a Premier League club in recent times. It felt like the DOF team and the scouts were frustrated that Moyes wasn’t a more progressive manager and it resulted in a weird compromise of a transfer policy - fancy continental purchases like Scamacca, Haller that in no way fit how Moyes wanted to play. Yet when they had the free hand to appoint his successor they went out and appointed a man that who plays some of the most negative football in Europe. Yeah with being the summer it ain’t theirs so doubt any PSR benefit comes of it. This season I believe they have to move fixtures also as its needed for an athletics competition.
