I do wish these American actors/celebrities would fuck the fuck off with buying English football clubs. Turns the whole thing into a circus. Decky
CL round of 16 draw on now. Real vs Athletico and Bayern vs Leverkusen have drawn already. Villa got Club Brugge too, expect them to win that.
Decky
Liverpool vs Villa in the quarters if they get that far.
The College Dropout
This CL run for Villa could set them up for a massive run at CL next season and beyond. If they can get to the Quarters how much would they get from prize money, gates and additional TV? 50m+ surely? Plus most of the money from Duran. If they get to the quarters it’s a massive success if a season. Still in the cup too. The league doesn’t matter.
geordie_b
Are we at the stage now that the 5th CL spot for next year is safe and we can want the English teams to get knocked out?
alexf
Sounds silly and obviously more factors involved but if we had just got conference or Europa instead of the CL two years ago. I think we would be in a far stronger position than now. A slower build might have been more beneficial. It's all about timing but Villa definitely are benefitting from when they qualified and the new format coming into play.

There's a benefit to Villa getting knackered by CL games so they don't compete for 5th, I suppose. Newcastle have their hands full trying to overhaul the Sovereign State Moneybucks sides of Bournemouth and Forest, mind you, who have been unconstrained by PSR I understand. Sima
Villa's run to the quarters has been a piece of piss compared to what we were up against last season.
Decky
Villa fans must be very optimistic with that draw. I fancy them to get past Brugge, Liverpool or PSG in the next round isn't a foregone conclusion either, they could get past them too.

I like this PSG from what I’ve seen. Really open tournaments when you think about it. Inter, Barca, Liverpool, Real Madrid- good sides but beatable. Could get someone outside this to win easily. Nucasol
Do both legs of PSG Liverpool take place before the Carabao Final? That would be ideal.
