I'm sorry like but you don't panic and drive into crowds of women and kids, surely.

No but you panic if you suddenly have your car attacked by a crowd. Not defending the driver but it doesn’t look like a premeditated attack

You see this quite often all around the world. You take the wrong turn in your metal coffin and suddenly you're surrounded by delirious people. Arsenal away at PSG, Barca recently and now this. There's no saying how'd you react in that situation. Oh aye let's just jump out, leave my car and get beaten to death.

Not excusing anyone's behavior but maybe don't smash on peoples windows causing them to panic?

No way is that deliberate imo. Classic case of panicking and hitting the accelerator instead of the brake, it's a weird phenomenon.

Sounds weird as well but I think if it was deliberate they'd have done more damage.

Just hope everyone's okay.

Speeds up twice though. If it was once fair enough but he slows and goes again. Fucking weird and absolutely awful. Hopefully casualties to a minimum 🙏

If you just have you car battered by Liverpool fans then panic and hit Liverpool fans surrounded by thousands of other Liverpool fans you have no idea what kind of reaction you’d have.

not defending or blaming anyone just best not to jump to conclusions. It’s very likely a lot of people including the driver have had their lives ruined by something that could have been avoided

I don't like reading a suggestion that people in the parade banged on the car without proof.

Proof is literally in this thread 10 or so posts up

People do mad things in cars when theyr'e angry or panic. Even if you feel threatened you have to remember you are in control of a killing machine. If you find yourself in that situation it is best to just get out and ditch the car before you escalate it.

Leaving all speculation/ motive aside; how did he get his car there in the 1st place has to be a major question.

Thoughts are with all the victims. It’ll be interesting to see what details come out.

someone smashed his window just before it. That would make most people panic in a crowd

Aye. Pretty fucking mental thing to do like irrespective of whether there's been an altercation about them driving through prior. If that's what has caused it then person who smashed the window could be in a whole lot of shit now.

Slightly different circumstances compared to a parade but at the end of every home game there’s cars trying to get through the crowds on the road from Leazes Terrace to the Trent House

The drivers will often be going too fast given the amount of people they’re navigating through and the crowds get agitated with the drivers which inflames the situation

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a serious incident

Someone was trying to barge her way through a few seasons ago and some wag popped her boot open in retaliation.
