So will the Southampton fans have to be outside selling tickets like they are a tout?

Interestingly Southampton got allocated 3,000 more than the Riverside holds, so every season ticket holder will be eligible for sure.

Hope they take the local newspaper and get plenty of photos of themselves looking sad and pointing at the turnstile

Not sure how prepared the Middlesbrough players will be for this game, I assume some may have booked or are on holiday surely, or did the executives make the players train just in case.

Maybe Southampton can help out by telling them about Hull’s tactics

The rules are the rules, and they broke them, but fuck me it seems absolutely disproportionate.  Football taking itself far too seriously - Southampton acting like twats for negligible advantage, and the FL being po-faced about it.

I think I dislike Soton being in the top flight more than the Smoggies, so there is the laugh factor.  But I also think a long term ban of the Soton staff involved would’ve been more appropriate than booting the club out of the playoffs + a points deduction

At least the punishment should act as a deterrent for any other clubs who think about doing the same in the future.

Agreed, it’s the one thing I think is positive about it - if you breach the rules, swift and terrible punishment is coming

It’s just a shame that the FL don’t run the top division anymore - more evidence that the PL breakaway was a bad thing for the game.

Did Southampton think that admitting it meant they would get off with a slap on the wrist ?

Imagine it was more the EFL telling them to come clean now or else they'll get the 12 inch dildo out if any subsequent charges came to light.

I wonder if the exclusion from the play-off was due to the repeat offending.

The new PL plus pricing is out and all I can do is laugh. It's exactly the same price as it was via the networks

No surprises there :) it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out.  My suspicion would still be that if it is successful then the PL will become even more unbalanced, as the big clubs will push for even greater share of the spoils

It won't get much traction I don't think because this isn't what it's sold as.

It's a Collab between the local rights holders and the league to rebrand the online only offering and not direct to consumer.

Zero downward pressure on price despite this being a small market with a bad timezone difference.

I assume there'll be a knock-on effect trickling down the league with several clubs going after Southampton. I mean, just for starters, their cheating will have cost Wrexham the chance of a fourth successive promotion through the play-offs and arguably had a direct effect on the results eventually leading to Oxford's relegation. The unbeaten run Southampton went on appear to coincidentially have begun just at the same time Southampton admitted to starting their spy operation :dontknow:

Personally I think a -4 point deduction for next season is too lenient. They should have been given -3 points for each fixture they played this season after they admitted to starting their spying.

Would you have been alright with Liverpool spying on us and spotting our Dan Burn corner routine before the final?

I think if some bloke managed to rumble our set piece routine by badly hiding behind a tree with his iPhone then I think you’ve probably got to look inward.

I think stuff will have been going on like this for years.

The issue is nowadays with technology it makes it far easier to do and analyse as well.

Also, if you need to send a scout to hide in a tree with an iPhone to work out that 6’7” Dan Burn might just be a target from a corner, then you probably don’t deserve to be paid millions as a manager or a head coach.

Aggravated further by assigning your shortest player to mark him

Reminds me of that joke with the punchline "I'm in the bin"

Average player who any serious club would’ve shifted on. Though Keegan did try and he was a massive Ashley apologist. So, yeah. I’m not keen.
