42 goals in 294 Premier League appearances.

He was proper shite, apart from pens.

Not sure he's cut out for the top level but like ya boi Alan Pards said, I'd rather have him with us than against us.

He looks so much better than the rest of the league but do think it's weird that he's 28 in Sept and not done much in his career

But he's dead fun to watch

Southampton players have been left furious with who? The EFLs decision or their managers conduct? Or both?

The club.

Southampton could face a legal claim from their players for loss of earnings after the club were expelled from the Championship playoff final for spying on training sessions staged by Middlesbrough and two other second-tier teams this season. The squad have been discussing their options after Boro, semi-final losers to Southampton, were reinstated to Saturday’s Wembley showpiece against Hull. It is understood there is widespread fury in Southampton’s dressing room, presenting the club with another headache after a fraught period.

Don't blame them. [emoji38] It'd be amazing if Harwood-Bellis has the nerve to stick in a claim after he was doing this

I know footballers aren't exactly known for being the sharpest tools in the shed but did none of them wonder how their manager just happened to know the other teams' set piece routines without showing a video of them doing it in a previous game?

Shocking like, feels like the only suitable punishment would be to dock both North London clubs 15 points each.

Not sure how that will work since they still had to beat Hull regardless, and were only that close to start with because of the cheating

I wonder how much more widely this sort of cheating goes on.

I couldn't quite believe some people downplaying it on here.

Especially when you consider the PL champions have just won the league based on their utterly tedious rehearsed set plays.

Given that Swindon were expelled from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy or whatever the hell it's called now for fielding ineligible players earlier this season due to admin errors, it seems perfectly reasonable that Saints are expelled from the play offs, that's just what happens if you cheat in a cup competition which is effectively what the play offs are.

A ridiculous way to frame it, but I guess it's desperation. In the same way that you're not getting to play the 200m match, you may have deliberately cheated another team out of a 200m match pre punishment. Imagine if you could just cheat your way into a 200m match and just take a 200k fine if you get caught. Yeah, like that wouldn't be problematic at all, cheating would just be the right thing to do at that point.[emoji38]

Oh, and they talk as if the final had already been won when comparing the financial punishment to other things..

think the punishment is ott. Wouldn't happen to Chelsea.

Or any of the big 6, if we did it we would probably be relegated to the conference .

Aye, the punishment is the punishment. The fact that you happen to have been caught just as you were about to play a massive money match, is effectively irrelevant.
