Because he's the greatest player to have ever played the game? And would already be a WC champion if he had abandoned Argentina and had chosen Spain instead.

He’s also not any less Argentinian because he moved away when he was a bairn.

Ho’way the cloggies

It’s absolutely the least tragic part of that country’s break-up, but Yugoslavia would have won a major trophy or two had it remained unified.  Certainly think they would have in the ‘90s

Putting together an all-former Yugoslav republics national team is a fun exercise.

Absolutely despise the yellow card suspension rule.

2 yellow cards in 5 games (2 of which could go to extra time) should not result in a ban in a World Cup semi final game

Slate should be wiped after the group stage imo.

Both Brazil and Argentina are so passive out of possession.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Argentina and Brazil both have managers who haven’t been managing in Europe.  The game generally has moved away from that sort of passivity

BTW Neymar oficially equalled Pelé in official goals for Brazil.

EDIT: Not even Ronaldo or Romário were able to do that.

He has played nearly twice the number of games Romario did tbf.
