Am I crazy or did we once get a european spot because of our disciplinary record?

We were in the hat for qualifying for the UEFA cup via fair play in 2001 but didn't get pulled out (finished 11th season before). Then Málaga pulled out of the intertoto and we were invited in.

I think, city, forest (they have a fairly easy run of games), arsenal and Liverpool are pretty much set for top four now.

I think us and Chelsea have to be favourites for 5th place. Chelsea have a harder run of games than we do imo, but without botman and hall I'm not confident that well be able to keep getting results from lesser sides.

Get what you’re saying but playing the better teams suits Forest at times. When they have to attack a team sitting in a bit more then they may struggle a little (I hope).

No reason why we shouldn’t go on a run of 5 league wins in a row, all against bottom half teams and the away games are West Ham and Leicester.

We need the points on the board with some difficult away days at the end the of the season.

All the teams in and around us would have fancied us dropping points tonight given the circumstances.

Excellent counterpunch from us.

Its only 10 games and city can lose points in plenty of them in their current form.

If i remember correct we went on a very good run after the last cup final, after looking really poor the games before.

With 6 home games and being done with the auto-losses against City and Liverpool if think we atleast have a chance of ending up above City.

You have good fixtures. I see you ahead of Chelsea and Villa. Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City first 3 places. Then Newcastle and Forest. Chelsea your main rival.

It doesn't actually feel that much of an advantage when you consider the 1-4 to Bournemouth, losing to Fulham and then Brighton in the cup recently, and somehow coming out with a win over Forest , but 6 of our last 10 are at home, which should be an advantage.

Unlike EVERY other team in the top 11, our non league campaign ends (win or lose) on Sunday, we then have 16 days to prepare for our next league fixture Brentford at home, and the next 2 after that are well spaced out (Wed-Mon-Sun). As others mention, our next 6 games are pretty kind on paper, 4 at home all to current bottom half sides, as well as Leicester away, and if we do get say 11-13 points from those 6 games, we'll be well placed to attack the final 4, 2 at home, 2 away where some of those teams might have nothing to play for, or preparing for European / FA Cup semi's etc.

The position does feel a lot better after that result.

Fair play with tonight's win, like. Had it down in the predictor as a defeat but they scraped out a minger - all wins count.

Still not sure we'll beat Chelsea to 5th but the upcoming fixtures are good.

Could not care less how we play the rest of this season. I will take ugly, fluky, undeserved, controversial wins and draws.

It’s so important we finish as high as possible this season.

Seriously, wtf Stifler?

Win on Sunday and we are in Europe.

Also, from my point of view, I’d swap finishing high up the league for a cup final win.

Those are the current 'top 4' odds. Doesn't appear to be 'top 5' odds, despite it being fairly apparent 5th in the PL will get CL football next season.

Brentford, Palace, Ipswich, Man United and Everton are all in principle winnable home games. Likewise Leicester away.

Chelsea home will be a tough game which will be key to win

Brighton, Aston Villa- tough away games. A point would be a great result.

Arsenal will have lost the league by the time we play them. But probably hate us

As someone else said, we have come through a very tricky period of fixtures and ended up scrapping a good result tonight. Focus on the final and hopefully win this weekend. If we don't, still put ourselves in a good position to aim for 5th and CL qualification with other teams with extra competitions to distract them.
