The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

Could end up in an Austria West Germany 1982 scenario between Forest and Chelsea on the last day if we don't beat Chelsea.  Which, as its Chelsea, will be completely endorsed.

Just realised Arsenal may need result against us to secure champions league, not ideal.

They'll bottle it the more pressure they are under!

If we can't beat Chelsea at home, we aren't beating Arsenal away IMO.

2 draws leaves our destiny to others.

If football was that predictable the bookies wouldn't take bets on it.

How about 12pm?

edit - tbf if you convince yourself it’s a 12am ko, that could possibly be an acceptable state to find yourself in.

While 12pm is now recognised as correct, the proper term is still 12 noon.

They'll be allowed to sell the toilets in the stadium for a billion quid as reward.

How? Why?

Chelsea away form to top clubs:
Liverpool (L)

Arsenal (L)

Man City (L)

Villa (L)

Newcastle home form to top clubs:
Liverpool (D)

Arsenal (W)

Man City (D)

Villa (W)

Forest (W)

Very happy to need to beat this Chelsea team at home to secure CL football. If we can't beat them we just aren't good enough and that's fine.

Because stats don't mean that much when key players are missing. I'll bet all those games you are citing we had Joelinton playing. Of course a draw is very likely. A win is also likely but when two top teams go head to head it doesn't necessarily mean a win is guaranteed for Newcastle when one of our key players is out.

Getting mixed up with 12am and 12pm reminded me of our trip to Oz in 2016 😂

Had to get up to watch our 8pm (UK) ko against Leicester at a casino (Star) near Darling Harbour.

I think it was 5am, deffo 5am 😂😂

Place was empty apart from a few Chinese and I'm not sure having a couple of ales was good prep for the subsequent sightseeing. Long day, for sure.

Ps we got beat 1 zip

Joelinton will miss Arsenal too.

We have to find a way and I trust Eddie to make it happen. Including wheeling out Joelinton one more time.

We've beaten better Chelsea teams with worse sides in the PL at SJP. I believe in the boys.

I was in aus for all of the Europa run under pardew, getting up early on a Friday to watch Thursday night games was a head fuck all day.

Imagine the highlight being the 0-0 away to Anzhi which was a 5pm ko here so god knows what time in Aus.

Villa and Chelsea games both moved to a Friday night to add to their home advantage:

May 16: Aston Villa vs Tottenham - 7.30pm

May 16: Chelsea vs Man Utd - 8.15pm

Thats good for us though? Gives Tottenham and Man Utd more time before the final. Wont need to rest as many.

Had a fever dream last night where we were playing Forest with two more games to play. We were 4-3 up going into the 86th minute and then they scored on 86 and in extra time. Howe’s face looked haunted. I still haven’t recovered from it

It's probably clutching at straws but it looks like Tielemans' season is over.

Not only did he score last week's winner but Villa score loads from set-pieces + I think he has a big part in them.

Seen a number of articles singing his praises in the last week.

Such a shame.

I'm missing the match on sunday and boarding a plane home at 1.50, praying for small delay or better still be 5 up by half time like the spurs game two years ago.

So, lets see.. Chelsea play Liverpool the game after the league is secured. Then Chelsea and Villa play Man Utd and Spurs 5 days before the Europa League final they somehow got into, which means another free win for Chelsea and one for Villa. Then Villa play Man Utd only some days after the final. Brilliant.

Nothing, except a shitty team is getting a 6th CL spot.

If Chelsea and Man U get CL but not us :anguish:

If it's any consolation, the Europa is clearly an easier competition to win the the League Cup - so great chance of a trophy 2 seasons in a row. We'll need another 3-4 good squad players though, over wise risk falling to bits with fatigue and injuries again.

Would be nice if Bournemouth did something against Villa. They have Man Utd and Spurs after that. Both games close to the final, one right before and the other right after. I expect no help from those 2 teams. Good thing our GD is superior. 69p will do.
