Scrolling through Twitter and Reddit there is some real animosity towards Forest because they “cheated.” As if they didn’t get punished and push on.

Considering this is almost entirely coming from ‘big 6’ supporters it’s so frustrating how anti-competitive they are. And willfully blind to the advantages they have.

I've been saying forever that these clubs hate competition. They also lack a sense of irony given a lot of them became established when no such rules existed.

And the way forest got done was total bullshit on top of that. The rules penalised them being promoted as the allowable loss is much less in the championship.

Forest are a good example of how it might pay to break the rules and take the punishment rather than accept the shackles imposed by the cartel led authorities.

Bought Chris Wood from Burnley to ensure their relegation. Sold Wood to Forest to miss out on the Champions League.   :bluestar:

Hope they haven't.

The quality of the Europa League is low man. I don't watch any non-CL European football. But the names and league positions don't seem great outside of Porto & Lazio.

I'd hate for Man U to trick us out of another European competition.

Sorry, I meant the premier league

Blow for Bournemouth

Is that Unal (?) that scored that belting free kick actually any good? Don’t think I’ve ever seen him play?

They've got four of the league's top five in their upcoming fixtures too (including us). Hopefully they'll be another team we can distance ourselves from over January.

Not according to Bournemouth fans, I’ve personally not watched him though.

You got away with murder in that cup semi. There was fuck all wrong with Coventry's winner.

We battered Coventry. Their goals were a mishit off the shin, a massive deflection and an extremely harsh penalty. But we got away with murder because a goal was rightly ruled offside? The people thinking it was onside must think AWB had size 15 feet.

Anyone who thinks we didn't deserve to win that game, or the FA Cup for that matter, it biased beyond belief or just simply off their rocker.

Hopefully they take points off Forest though.

If Forest put away the lesser sides it's gonna be hard to stop them. Their games against Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and City in this half of the season are all at home. Our game against them next month could be huge.

We only need to get 5 more points than Forest over 18 games, if we are unable to do that then we don't deserve champions league really, its not like we are chasing down peak Man City or anything.

Don't understand this tbh, I never watch the CL because it's boring as fuck. The EL and Conference League always entertain.

That said, I'd much prefer NUFC in the CL, of course  It'd be different if we were in it, but all matches not involving us would be just as boring as they always have been.

We’ve just beaten Arsenal, Man Utd and Tottenham away in our last three games. Scoring 6 and only conceding one, were the cartels worst fucking nightmare.

Beating Arsenal has just made it even harder for us to win our next game you know...

Forest didn’t do it as a gamble though. Everyone has changed the narrative to that they did, because 2 and a half years later they are having a good season.

When they got promoted, most of their players were either out of contract, or having to return to their clubs after their loan deal ended. Even if they never got promoted, they would have had to buy a whole new squad.

The quality of football in the CL is the best the sport has to offer. That part is super enjoyable. I mostly watch Madrid and it’s understated how excellent and enjoyable to watch players like Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are and they aren’t even the star players. Watching Valverde is like watching Sandro Tonali (a brilliant player) on steroids.

I’ve super enjoyed this new league format.  The quality of matches has been superb and the competition is hot.

By the time it gets to Thursday and Spurs - I’m footballed out. Like watching a Man U is painful.

Aye but they didn’t need to buy 30 something players.

Forest did gamble in respect that they actually tried to stay up. They weren’t even a parachute payment club like Fulham or Bournemouth.  Apart from Leeds who never bothered to sign defenders - most (non parachute payment) promoted clubs don’t even attempt to stay up.  I think FFP has blocked Leicester from giving it a real go but the rest don’t try.

Forest came up and slapped the money down for late 20s Chris Wood. They meant business.

They lost 26 players that summer.
