We’ll just have to make out own luck today…

It'll be 3 or 4 to nil today. Worried about the Gd swing. Hopefully forest can contain Chelsea last game.

Still 7th. Nothing positive has happened in the 4 matches that affected us this weekend thus far.

Well, all 5 results in league and cup unfortunately went against us this weekend, but if we were to lose and Chelsea were to win, at least both were just by the 1 goal, so we should have at least 6th (and Europa) wrapped up. If Chelsea do lose to Forest next week then we would have to lose to Everton by at least 4 goals to finish as low as 7th. Had we lost 2-0 and Chelsea won 3-0, or vice versa, then even 6th wouldn't have been sewn up.

Edit - not that Howe was bothered about any of that with Pope going up

Couldn't have gone worse, this weekend

Just goal difference in the defeats, so could have been a bit worse.

This game was always a bit of a free hit, still in our own hands, that's all we could have realistically asked for. So I'm content tbh :)

Qualified:

1. Liverpool    QUALIFIED FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

2. Arsenal      QUALIFIED FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

3. Newcastle  (66 pts +22 GD)

Everton (H)

4. Chelsea (66 pts +20 GD)

Nottingham Forest (A)

5. Aston Villa (66 pts +9 GD)
Man Utd (A)

‐‐--------------------

6. Man City (65 pts +24 GD)
Tuesday: Bournemouth (h)

Fulham (a)

--‐---------

7. Nottingham Forest (65 pts +13 GD)
Chelsea (H)

Presume City win on Tuesday, we will be 4th and must win on Sunday as Villa should beat Man Utd and Chelsea should beat Forest

Going as expected. Home game v Everton to get UCL. Take that all day.

Ideally Man Utd turn up final game against Villa because that would take loads of pressure off too.

Using realism rather than reading around here, a defeat was expected.

But the manner of it (early shots, Gordon error) hurts, as does every other AVL/CHE score once again going badly.

I dunno, I'm feeling 60/40 that we'll make it.

But I don't even think we're one of the country's best five teams tbh.

Is that Europa League pretty much confirmed? Unless we get battered by Everton?

Yes, extremely likely. If Chelsea lose by 1, we can still lose by 3, if Chelsea lose by 2, we can lose by 4 and so on, so at least it's something that goal difference was still intact.

I wouldn't say it was expected - not at all.  And tbh if we'd took our chances we would be deserved winners - what's frustrating is we didn't take them and knowing if we had our best player on the pitch we most likely would have won that game.  Bar a couple of shots Pope had very little to do - the fact Raya got MOTM says it all.

Trophy and third or fourth with one to play, which is Everton home. I would have snapped your hand off for this at Christmas, never mind when the season started.

Just to remind everyone, but we've not bought a first teamer for three transfer windows. PSR meant the wild crazy dribbling kid we had who scored in the CL had to be sold.
