The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Recommended Posts

In our fixture list, we've got only 2 sides who have something to play for - one of those will have lost the league title already. Arsenal and Chelsea. That might count for something v. the fixtures our CL rivals have

You're focusing too much on their 2024 form over here. That doesn't matter anymore. Their stats are 9-3-3 since their terrible form pre 2025. As mentioned all of the losses were to top 7 teams. Ofcourse they may draw a game or two, but that's not enough. They need to have a serious dip in form to not get it over the line.

I really dont see why their January results should be so much more relevant than their December results. Whether you count the games from March, February, December or the start of the season they will all show that they won half of their games. Its only when you start from January they will have good stats. Its you I would say that are focusing too much on that particular period.

I think a lot of the pessimism is rooted in wanting this to be handled comfortably. We just had a worst case scenario weekend (after a brilliant week) and we're still 4th. Our next game is at home against one of the worst teams in the league and we play once a week for the rest of the season.

The reason the betting odds still like us and why so many predictors come out in our favor is we're still in a very strong spot, but that includes all the permutations where we qualify on the final day by a point or by GD. It might be a little torturous but I'm still very confident.

Plus we won the cup so grand scheme of things…

Indeed. Even if we miss out on the CL it's not the end of the world, as the Europa League would represent a good opportunity to win another trophy.

Sure we may lose a purple or two, but so be it. It will just take us a bit longer to get to where we want to go, but I'm confident we will get there. More than anything, I'm just really enjoying the journey and seeing what we can achieve.

Yep. The pessimism is due to losing against Villa, it’s literally the only thing that’s gone wrong for weeks. We’re still in an incredible position and should do it.
