The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Recommended Posts

Have to remind myself that we were 13th for a while. Being in control of our CL qualification on the last day is fucking great considering how we started the year.

I'd rather play almost any team but Everton, though. They are shit but, similar to palace, we seem to struggle with their particular brand of shittiness.

Add Wolves to that I guess. Everton, Palace, Wolves, and any team that's good, those are the ones to stay away from

Palace & Wolves? They are the dream compared to Bournemouth & Brighton.

Good because even if we “failed” at the weekend it still ends on a cracking season where Conference League would have been incredibly meh

And even 6th sounds so much better than 7th, with all the 'big 6' type stuff. Still obviously hoping for better mind.

We just smashed Palace 5-0.

That's right. To finish 7th we'd need;

Villa win/draw

Forest win

Newcastle lose by at least 4 goals

eg. Forest 2-1 Chelsea, Newcastle 0-4 Everton would (I think) have Chelsea in 6th above us on goal difference (+19 to +18)

That's a class foundation to have going into the weekend: Europa minimum unless Everton batter is [emoji38]

I'd much rather get CL by earning it than by fortunate results from other teams struggling. It's firmly in our hands. Our staff/coaches/players need our support - regardless of who is playing, fit or hurt.

One final rally from a hostile home crowd please!

If we draw and Villa draw for example, we'll still have 100% earned it.

If the crowd and team is up for this in the way they were up for Spurs 6-1, PSG, and the Arsenal semifinal then Everton frankly have no chance. Hopefully there's an early goal and then we make it comfortable because it will definitely get nervy in the second half if we're not winning by 2+.

Any member of the crowd not up for this confiscate their tickets!

Or like they were against Everton themselves at home back in February 2022. One of the best post-takeover atmospheres.

Everton are far from shit. Moyes has stiffened up the the defense and has the whole team more organised. 3 points from them is definitely not a gimmie. I think the only teams I'd rather have are Leicester or The Saints. Even those games would be banana skins.

It's saying the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Don't see your neighbour and think, 'He's got a better car. A more attractive wife.

We all wake up and go, 'Oh, I ache
I'm not 18 anymore' I'm 39 I'm in my 30s.

But so what? At least I've got my health. If you've got one leg, at least you haven't got two legs missing.

If you have lost both legs and both arms, just go, 'At least I'm not dead!' I'd rather be dead in that situation, to be honest. I'm not saying people like that should be put down.

I'm saying that in my life, I'd rather not live without arms and legs because I'm just getting into yoga, for one thing

I was just thinking this myself.

Now though, we've got banana skin nerves against us too.
