Can probably get better odds on betting directly on us not winning against either Arsenal and Everton though.

Just over 2/1 for Arsenal/Draw & Bournemouth/Draw v City (used this as I reckon it'd be similar odds for Everton v us).

CL for fifth now, and CL for winning the Europa which for the first time has no CL teams dropping into it has shaken things up. It all feels weird.

fwiw, if we hadn't been dumped in a group of death and denied in Paris by that handball call, and Man U hadn't been hopeless in an easy group, the England coefficient would have been better and Spurs would have had a much better chance of getting CL last season for finishing fifth. It looks like 19/20 and 23/24 were the only recent seasons where English clubs weren't in the top two countries.

Not sure about that. Bournemouth have pretty fucking great away stats. 7-7-4, 4th best.

The game is also just 3 days after the FA Cup final.

Nice to have a big match to watch where I'm not too fussed about the outcome. It's proper stressful between watching us and then hate watching the other sides, and we've still got tomorrow, Wednesday night, next Saturday and next Sunday to come so this is a bit of buffer. Think it's why the enjoyed the league 1 and 2 play off games as well.

Anyway, would rather Palace win as it's just something different and City don't need or deserve another trophy, but I certainly wouldn't be pissed off if City do win, never really minded them as a club and though they've got lost in all the tourist rubbish since the moneh came rolling, they do have some proper core fans that do have stuff in common with us.

If we win tomorrow is it confirmed?

No, but Forest wouldn't be able to catch us and we'd be 3 points ahead of Villa with 1 game to play with a goal difference they realistically can't over turn.

Not technically but it would require Villa to win their last game by about 12 goals.

Excellent. Let’s just win then and it’s sorted.

having said that, they’re playing Man Utd.

I'm hoping with the Uefa cup done Man Utd might decide to put some effort in.

Hopefully because they're trying to save face having lost the final.

As long as we don't pick up any bad injuries and/or get thumped 4 or 5 nil then there shouldn't be any need to panic.

Just wish we had a somewhat easier game to give us a better chance of finishing it before Everton. But that's how it's fallen and hopefully this team will see it through and get us over the line like they did in 22/23 and the in the cup final this year.

I'm not feeling the 'stress' or 'pressure' like.  Being in Europe is fucking great, regardless of compeition.  Qualifying for the UEFA Cup or the Conference League is not failure.  And while I think we will make the CL, I'd rather we didn't view finishing outside the top five as failure

I get that viewpoint completely however the new format of the CL does make things slightly easier in terms of difficulty of opponent week in week out and squad rotation. I think we’ll make sufficient signings for the squad to be that but stronger too. The other key point for me is I think our blue chip players want to be playing in the champions league too. Being in it reduces the risk of certain players leaving while also improving our chances of signing top players as well as the financial gains.

I think where we’re at it’s more important to be in the champions league.

We struggled last time due to a thin squad. Qualifying for CL again should open up the funds to improve it this time around so we should struggle less?
