But if we can keep them all available, then sky's the limit. thats rhe case with most teams in football mate.

Ellis H Posted Saturday at 14:58 Share Posted Saturday at 14:58 Now 11 points clear of Tottenham and 15 clear of Man Utd. Next games… Liverpool vs Man Utd Arsenal vs Tottenham Newcastle vs Wolves We should be almost guaranteed to finish above them if these games go as expected. Also over the course of the season, we should finish above the likes of Brighton, Fulham and Bournemouth. Nottingham Forest look like the only wildcard at the moment. Can they keep up their form. Otherwise a top 5 champions league place is there for the taking for us.
samptime29 Posted Saturday at 15:45 Share Posted Saturday at 15:45 Forest at home could be a really important game.
Doctor Zaius Posted Saturday at 15:54 Share Posted Saturday at 15:54 Think as bad as City have been, they'll finish above us. It's Forest who we need to catch.
Smal Posted Saturday at 16:00 Share Posted Saturday at 16:00 it's obviously easy to say but I doubt Forest keep this up. Their performances are not as good as their points total suggests. I mean, we've all seen him play... Chris Wood surely can't just keep banging goals in like he has been all season. I think City overtake us but we need to catch Forest. 5th can be ours. Beating Spurs away is such a massive, massive result, man.

I was thinking ahead of today, 10 more wins would put us on 62 points, which should be good enough for 5th/6th. A win against Spurs puts us 11 points ahead of them, so if we achieve what we need to, then they would need 37 points to finish ahead of us this season (assuming they beat us on GD). I can’t see Spurs getting that many more points this season.
Turnbull2000 Posted Saturday at 16:11 Share Posted Saturday at 16:11 I would take a monumental run to get 4th. Pool, Arse (pretty much certainly), City and Chelsea (likely) will have those spots. It's hard to compete with these when their expenditures are more than double ours.

Abacus Posted Saturday at 18:46 Share Posted Saturday at 18:46 We're on for this now. If you're supporting a different team, you don't want us hunting you down. Not sure anyone at all will want to play us at SJP.

Huge result today, obviously the last few weeks have been massive, Remember after the Brentford defeat a few weeks ago looking at the fixture list and seeing villa, man utd and spurs in the week after Christmas and thinking we would be lucky not to be in lower mid table.... turn around has been magnificent in all honesty
Mazzy Posted Saturday at 18:56 Share Posted Saturday at 18:56 Would've been incredibly confident if the performance today was more like the Man Utd one. Still concerned about our ability to keep this up for another coupe of weeks let alone a few months, especially with two cup competitions heating up now. I'd be happy with 5th as it's stands. 6th would be OK, depending who it is that finishes above us.

Vaj Posted Saturday at 18:57 Share Posted Saturday at 18:57 Should be targeting 10 points minimum from the next four games with the run we are on, especially with three of the games being at home. Anything below 8 would be really poor. If we could manage 10 points then we would be on 45 points from 24 games and therefore only needing 25 points from 14 games to get to 70 points (8 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats doesn’t seem too much of an ask). So all things considered a huge month to come to really cement our chances of getting top four/five!

We have been brilliant over the last few games and today (against a team that can really show up against better teams) we showed two sides. Complete dominance away from home for a good half an hour in the first half and then a real dogged defensive performance in the second half to keep them out. If anything, I am more confident after watching that. Felt like a game from two seasons ago. Edited Saturday at 19:00 by Vaj

RW / Backup ST / RCB / GK are needed Now Botman is back perhaps could push RCB until the summer. If Dubravka goes, then GK might need to come in, depends how good Vlach is. Backup ST - Wilson cannot be relied on. RW - Dibling seems like the one - but not available until summer. Mbuemo honestly makes so much sense - one extra player, two extra roles filled but it will galvanise and support the team to make that extra push

Superior Acuña Posted Saturday at 19:12 Share Posted Saturday at 19:12 I’m not counting our chickens for Wolves and Leicester at home. Those are exactly the kinds of games we’ve struggled in - mediocre to decent teams that are not ‘big clubs/games’. Leicester were so shit that it wasn’t an issue. Hopefully it’ll be different for the new us.
