ExiledGeordie Posted May 17, 2025 Share Posted May 17, 2025 (edited) I actually think Villa as well as Chelsea could drop points on the final day of the season but we just need to get our own house in order and get it sorted. Beating Arsenal is the dream scenario but while Everton is definitely tricky we’ll put them away at home. Obviously the longer it goes on and we aren't winning the more nervy it’ll get. Everton at home is exactly the sort of fixture we’ve struggled with over the last couple of years - midtable sides coming to SJP to spoil and sit off. It’s been clear for a while we just needed to win our games as everyone else is pretty much doing the same. I think we’ll probably lose to Arsenal and the flapathon on here will monumental but we’ll get it done v Everton. A daft away with and Arteta crying would make this far more enjoyable though. I doubt Man Utd fans would be arsed about taking another loss to keep them out of it. Would realistically need Bournemouth to win when the best I can see them doing is a draw. Yep, it's been obvious for weeks now it was always going down to the last day and we needed to get to 69 points for a top 5 finish . The Chelsea game last week was always the key one and once we won that I stopped worrying if we would do it or not . No way this team throw it away at home to Everton on the last day .
