See you later Gordon, thanks for some intermittent quality and some great performances in 22/23. Look forward to having a more technically gifted player on the left who is a more natural finisher

Interestingly, if Gordon does leave, it would increase the chances of midfielder Sandro Tonali remaining on Tyneside. Newcastle would not need to sell another crown jewel to fund their summer recruitment. It remains to be seen whether the player will also ask for a transfer if he knows Champions League clubs want to sign him.

As Telegraph Sport revealed last month, full-back Tino Livramento is likely to be sold if an acceptable bid is made. He will enter the final two years of his contract in June.

Newcastle are preparing for a major overhaul of their first-team squad as Kieran Trippier is leaving at the end of his contract and midfielder Joe Willock is also available for transfer.

It is also thought that at least one of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa will be moved on as Newcastle want to sign at least one centre-forward as part of their rebuild.

Wonder if he plays saturday...can see the crowd turning on him

Really? I can't see it. He phoned it for over a year and nobody batted an eyelid.

“It seems as though Gordon feels he has outgrown Newcastle and would like a new challenge as well as a large pay rise at a club competing regularly in the Champions League.”

seriously he can fuck off, all those champions league goals against Quarbag really could be a blessing for us, when we sell him for a hugely inflated price.

He's already paid daft amounts of money on the back of that new contract he signed. Even though I'm not a massive fan I hope we don't make a mess out of replacing him.

More bothered about the disruption to the remaining games than the fact he might leave. All very annoying because he's our most important attacker in an already dysfunctional attack.

I'm not surprised he fancies a move, like. I'm sure he would've done even if we'd had a decent season. He backs himself and wants to compete for titles; we're not allowed to do that.

It does make me laugh with our fans, Tonali pulls out of the Sunderland game not much uproar, Gordon doesn't celebrate much v Liverpool and there's more fans causing noise.

It's been a bad season but only Hall and Bruno have had a better season, I know that's because we have been poor.

Not shocked he wants to be away given fan reaction to him.

I think we should be keeping him but understand one of our major players will have to leave if we’re going to reinvest. I know he’s done alright as a forward but I don’t think Howe moving him there has really helped him. From what I’ve read I think Gordon sees himself as a striker now too where I personally think he should have been nailing down that LW spot. A bit like how Rashford never made one position his own.

Despite liking Gordon I’m always of the opinion that if someone doesn’t want to be here (or sign for that matter) then move them on as soon as possible.

Hopefully we get a good fee for him.

Again on more weird narratives but Tonali was at the Freeman (I saw him) with someone from the club’s medical team a few days before the Sunderland game.

He hasn’t just pulled out because he didn’t fancy it. Whether he’s been deemed for enough a week later to play for Italy from that scan is irrelevant.

Never seen a worse performance than his against Athletic Bilbao (I think) was so bad he pretended to be injured and went off. Something he did recently as well.

Did you ever see Jack Colback play live?

If any of this is true, I hope he doesn’t start any of the remaining games. If he’s not going to be here next season, may as well start without him now.

Give it to Barnes til the end of the season [emoji38]

I dont hate the sentiment of the post though. We’ve nothing to play for and if he doesn’t want to be here he isn’t going to try.
