Anthony Gordon (now playing for FC Barcelona)

Should be pushing £80m and some add-ons really. Feel like his stock won't get any higher whilst he's here so a good time to sell.

Let's hope we can get nearer to £80m.

It's a strange one, I watched Luis Diaz last night, and his end product was lacking but my days he is a much bigger threat going forwards, than Gordon.

£70m should be the bottom line. Elanga and Kudus were £55m each.

We paid £40m for Harvey Barnes 3 years ago, I’d definitely want it to be closer to £80m.

We won't be taken for mugs

Not sure exactly but presumably there's about £15m of his book value left. Sell for £70m, minus Everton's reported 15% of the profit (say £4m) leaves a PSR profit of about £50m.

Probably the sort of deal that can fund two or three additions

Do we understand that offering a percentage is supposed to lower the price we pay a bit? Gordon’s fee was considered huge at the time, then there’s Wissa.

Really not arsed if he leaves.

No animosity, but I’m really not arsed if stays or goes.

Like one of them lasses you’ve done the nasty with a few times but never really saw yourself settling down with her because in the bedroom she thought she was an amateur porn star but more often than not it was like getting ridden by one of your nanna’s mates from bingo.

using Elanga costing £55m as a reason why other clubs should pay way above market value is a bonkers argument ffs

Alright don't get coarse. You're not gonna win poster of the year with filth.

Not really. We clearly overpay so need as much as we can to offset that. Newcastle tax.

So it begins, obviously Bayern won't be paying what we want so is he going to copy his mate and go on strike?

If they really do want him, we’ll get the deal done. We ostensibly have a good relationship with BM, they’re doing things above board, and we’re clearly willing to sell him (unlike Isak, up until the point he made keeping him untenable).

Nah, they walked away from the Trips deal and they told Stuttgart to get fucked for Big Nick.

He's going to be a rotation player at best for them so they can move on to other targets rather than overlay.

We will get 60m tops for him.

He hasn't had a good season in comparison to what we know he can. That said,he performed in Europe which matters.

Will probably end up at Liverpool for 10m less than Bayern bid.

Barcelona sporting director Deco has already spoken to Gordon’s representatives, and while there are reservations about signing him due to the expectation that Newcastle will demand a high fee for the 25-year-old, he may not be as expensive as anticipated. According to Sky Sports (via MD), €90m is what the English club are seeking, although the feeling is that a deal can be done for €75m-85m, add-ons included.

Barcelona are keen to sign someone in a similar mould to Raphinha, albeit at a younger age. Gordon is three years the junior of the Brazil international, and his playstyle is comparable, in that he works hard off the ball and can be destructive with it, as has been shown in this season’s Champions League.

The fact that Gordon can also operate as a number nine is beneficial for Barcelona, who may find it difficult to spend big on a natural striker due to their well-documented financial woes. However, they would face strong competition from Bayern Munich, who are keen to agree terms with Newcastle as soon as possible, given that the upcoming World Cup will make it difficult for teams to do business for about a month.

The same Gordon that's got 3 league goals from open play in 15 months?

Those Champions League penalties could be winning us a lot of money

Gee lads dunno, if both Bayern and Barcelona are both in for him he might actually be a pretty good player. I know it’s crazy to consider given his haircut ‘n all.
