I think there's a bit more to it. You don't, that's fine. It's ok to disagree.

One is being sold for £60m+ so won’t want to risk him getting injured. The other is leaving for free so isn’t our problem if he got injured. We would be daft letting Gordon play and pick up an injury in games that aren’t of real importance this close to the transfer window.

I think this is possibly the first clear actions of Ross Wilson.

The club likely need to shift a couple, Gordon likely fancies the move, and I think it seems fairly amicable from all parties. Its perfectly natural that Howe is thinking about life beyond Gordon and Gordon cant complain if his agent has been talking to clubs around Europe.

I dont think he will be massively missed on the football pitch and I cant say im massively fond of him as a bloke. I will thank him for the goals which got us to Wembley vs Arsenal, and say thank you very much for the transfer fee.

The risks of him getting a bad injury in a 10 minute cameo against a team that barely put a tackle in are quite minimal I'd say. I think there's other reasons why he's getting no game time but that's just my opinion. He'll not be the only summer sale I'd imagine.

As I said in another thread, I've heard a rumour of a big issue between him and Bruno causing a divide in the squad. It was from an unexpected source and seems improbable, probably bollocks and I won't repeat the details because I don't want to stir shit if not true, but could explain some stuff if it is.

Would be interesting to see what we'd look like now if we had and had kept Anderson and Minteh.

A deeper, balanced squad, in hindsight. We’ll get what we want for Gordon, I reckon and hopefully Wilson spends well this summer to strengthen us for now and the future.

If his behaviour had been 'very poor' he'd be nowhere near the squad. Isak literally wasn't even allowed near the rest of the squad in pre-season.

Just the usual made-up shite about a player people are just desperate to loathe.

I do think it's quite telling that he has barely (if at all?) kicked a ball for us since Shearer claimed he feigned injury last month mind.

I got the feeling at the time that Shearer wouldn't have said that unless he'd heard it from someone close to or within the playing staff.

One of the noisier Dads at my daughter’s football training was spouting similar a few weeks back… seemed bollocks but who knows

Yeah, I thought the same, but the source and rumour were so random that it makes part of me think there could be something to it.

Well I can't imagine Bruno being very impressed by a player who only turns up when he fancies it and feigns injury.

Tripper had that right good go at him vs Quarabag as well.

Not a team player.

100% this.

I was also in the flog him rather than Anderson and Minteh - it was obvious Anderson was going to turn out as an unreal player

The thing is transfers are part of life.

We buy players and expect them to remain loyal forever.

However Our problem is the only way we can beat PSR is if we buy cheap and sell big.

So we need to sell players when their market value is high.

If it wasn't Gordon it would be one of the other top players.

As my dad told me when Andy Cole was sold...fall in love with Newcastle but never a player

I don’t think it’s possible to beat PSR or its replacement.

As they say, its the hope that kills you

I think there’s no comparison with Trippier leaving on a free at the tail end of his career.

I’m hopeful it’s Howe taking a stand after they were way too soft on Isak last time. It’s like, as soon as you don’t want to be here, you’re out of the team, regardless of quality. He hasn’t done anything “wrong”, which is why he’s on the bench, but Howe is sending a message, 100% commitment to this cause or you’re dropped. I think it’s healthy.

Fully agree with this approach and reckon Gordon also understands it.

How much play do we think he'll get at WC? Are we talking starting every England game?

I think he prefers Rashford

I think he’s only guaranteed a spot in the squad because Tuchel can use him upfront if needed.
