According to sources in Germany, Tuchel personally supported the move during discussions with Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl. A significant difference in valuation remains between the clubs. Newcastle insists on a fee of at least £75 million, while Bayern’s current valuation is thought to be approximately £20 million less than that amount. Sources indicate that Bayern are optimistic that negotiations can progress in the coming weeks. Gordon is reportedly more attracted to the possibility of moving to Bavaria. According to sources, Tuchel’s presence within the England setup has increased that appeal. In comments to German media, Max Eberl confirmed that Bayern are actively working on acquiring attacking players. He also confirmed that positive talks had occurred regarding a leading target, who is understood to be Gordon. 20m apart. We paid £45m in 2022-23, he is now in his prime, has become a full international (2 goals in 17 appearances), played in the Champions League (10 in 12 appearances—probably the best player in the world of his ilk, Kvaratskhelia, has 10 in 15) and he has four years on his contract. No wonder Howe is bigging him up. Only way he goes for anything near that is if he is absolutely finished here.
