I don't think the old has a good world cup stick a few million on the price tag is the case for big name players anymore, the clubs all spend hundreds of hours scouting players so what he has the potential to do isn't the surprise it was back in the day when the only coverage you saw of foreign players and teams was the big tournaments. You might get the odd surprise of a young player from one of the small countries but the wall to wall coverage of football has removed most of the surprises for clubs.
