Saka's dad supports Newcastle :milner:

I know :) Apparently, anyway. I love the idea of them having a guilt-free jig seeing as his son's not involved.

up to 1 in 4 only 3 weeks later, not bad.

Think he can get a lot more goals if he gambles on the back post more often.

The Sterling at Man City run.

I don't mean cutting about the pitch like Velma from Scooby Doo.  But that late back post run and gambling on stuff like last night.

For context, in the official club video interview after he said he didn't want for it to look like he was being disrespectful, that Henry was an idol of his and he wanted to do the celebration at his ground as a nod to him.

Preferred not knowing this, tbph.

Gordon doesn't need the press to randomly latch on to this like they would normally do to anything good we do and turn this into a negative.

The beautiful thing is I think we're past caring :) Gordon's head - which definitely didn't look right a few months ago - looks fully on it now, and it's very good to have him back.

Just watched the NUFc TV video of him, he really does come across as an intelligent and humble lad. Not a wrong word out of his mouth. Top stuff!!

I'm always very impressed with how he speaks and conducts himself. He's great at highlighting contributions from other team members too, it's clear he thinks of himself as part of the group. Top lad.

Any one else think Howe is ruthless with Gordon ? He seems to play him all of the time and when he gets kicked all over the park he keeps him on the pitch. This might just be Gordon insisting that he plays but he certainly earns his wage.

I think yesterday was a time where Howe, in an ideal world, would have left Gordon on the bench.

But if as reported Barnes picked up a knock and had to come off, the only real options were Gordon or Sanusi. At that point the game was 1-1, and I think avoiding extra time was a big factor, so Gordon had to come on really.

there are other occasions he could come off sooner or be rested more, but as others have said I think Gordon would want to play every minute possible so I don’t think it will cause any issues.

Gordon for me has an elite mentality. Wants to play every minute and show he’s the best.

Always said since start of season, for him to go to that next level to back up his mentality, he needs to add goals. Ones like against Arsenal mid week prime example. Just get in at that back post and score, doesn’t need to be fancy finishes, just get them in the net. Then opposition will be even more scared of him, because not only has he the work rate / ball retention / movement, it’s the goals that scare opposition.

The new RW will then have so much more time to impact game too as opposition can’t double up on every key player.

On course to match his G/A from last season.

Wouldn't be surprised if he beat it given the form he's been in during this winning run.

Isak has rightly had the plaudits for his goal scoring form but Gordon has been almost equally instrumental.
