So if APTs are essentially illegal and unenforceable then how much longer will Fair Market Value bullshit exist for in the future? It's all connected and it feels like it's all about to come crumbling down and we (and Villa and Forest) steam in and invest the money that is there to be invested. The rules were clearly complete bullshit and are snapping one at a time :):)

Forest don’t have the money to compete. Their owner is only the 15th richest in the league, and he still owns another and arguably bigger club in Europe.

For comparison, if we build the new stadium for minimum of £1.2bn, it would be roughly half his net worth.

Well that’s not true. We’d just have to pay a fine iirc.

The fines grow based on how badly you break the rules and number of years. Eventually it leads to other punishments, including getting banned.

It's a more lenient system, but it's not a free-for-all.

As I thought. As clear as mud...

Isn't the point that we could get absolutely fucking massive revenue from new sponsorship deals and then we'd be fine for UEFA's rules as our much higher squad cost would be offset by our much higher revenue?

They couldn’t directly funnel money in, but they could dramatically increase sponsorships from related parties, which would increase our spending power significantly. This would not be prohibited by UEFA's squad cost ratio rules

Aye, you're right actually.

No idea what he's on about there.

So PL get the bill of £20m, which in turn is passed onto the 20 clubs, which in turn affects the PSR of each club, which in turn leads to 20 clubs suing the PL?

So... PL are completely done?

Actually, £65m over 2 seasons, and that's so far, so £3m per club. Imagine if you fall foul by £2-3m, especially if you cuck-voted it through.

I wouldn’t worry about UEFA’s rules too much.

Man City are also in Europe so makes no sense for them to legally challenge Premier League rules if they thought UEFA could stop them.

Does this mean we sold Minteh and Anderson for nothing? As the rules were never enforceable?

Yup. And we should be suing them for this, at least.

Like Shak said though, if you're fetching in significantly higher revenue, you can afford significantly higher squad costs. Got no idea what Maguire is on about.

You’d just resign if you were Masters like, wouldn’t you?

What a farce.

The guy was only appointed after meeting with Man U and Liverpool on the sly. He was never fit for the role

Do UEFA have their own version of APT rules?

Isn’t Masters just a glorified spokesman? He has no real power?

Him and Alison Brittain ought to both be clearing their desks on Monday morning.

You can’t just get away with having unlawful rules in place for 3 years without consequences

They’ve restricted trade for 3 years

Whole things just needs to be scraped - making the league a joke
