Shearergol
Anderson's played about 70 more professional games than Miley. I'm pretty certain his talent is going to shine through when he gets the same experience.

Tsunami
Yeah, it’s complete bollocks. It’s conceivable that we could have sold Tripps in January, many have questioned the purchase of Barnes over other positions, Hall is out and Botman has missed most of the season.  If you just take away Tripps & Barnes from the squad we are massively weaker in the Cup Final & for what is a heavy fixture list.  The established clubs have a huge advantage in squad depth & a continued ability to strengthen across their best 11 & bench. Keegans Export
No love for Villa whatsoever but it's no coincidence that their attempt to disrupt the "big 6" has hit all the same snags we have. The main difference is that they've managed to make multiple big sales over the past few years and as a result have more squad depth than we do but the principle is the same - not allowed to spend the money to compete effectively on multiple fronts. They spent the money last summer to try it and they've done a pretty good job but now they're going to have the vultures circling as soon as the transfer window opens. Â They've also got Disasi, Rashford and Asensio on loan, I don't know how many of those are locked-in transfers for 1st July but they could be looking at starting next season with a weaker squad than they end this one. John P
So Villa are still going to breach PSR rules despite selling Diaby and Duran to Saudi Arabia for a combined ÂŁ120m, and also doing a couple of dodgy Anderson/Vlachodimos style swaps last summer. PSR is an absolute joke, if it weren't for Howe and Emery being fantastic coaches we'd be nowhere near challenging the top 4/5, it's ridiculous

They won't fail it either they will sell the women's team or so some swap deal as they did before.  And yes, the game has been rigged unfortunately but both ourselves and villa are doing a great job and showing both the incompetence and complacency the incumbents have been displaying.
alexf
Surely Rashford and Asensio are on huge wages? This PSR shit is absolute bollocks but I'm sure Villa knew they were taking a calculated gamble signing those two in the hopes they got them champions league football again, progress further in this year's competition and help win the fa cup.  But if it comes back to bite them in terms of accounting then it's the risk they took.  In the same way I was hoping we would speculate to accumulate in January in the hopes it would boost our chances of finishing top 5 and winning a cup. Now it looks like we're in with a chance thankfully without spending and have already secured a trophy.
kingxlnc
Perhaps we could take Villas version of Anderson or Minteh in the summer? Jacob Ramsey?
Wolfcastle
Liked it better when clubs that failed had to sell players than when clubs succeed and have to. Just made sense in every way. But hey ho, there's that, promoted cannon fodder, court room battles and all kinds of dodgy stuff but as long as a couple clubs are protected Edited April 8 by Wolfcastle
Mikky
Isn’t Villa’s Turnover/Wages ratio like 98%? That’s completely unsustainable PSR or no PSR

They tie the progress that's been made directly to PSR limits being pushed. Ultimately it doesn't matter if they don't give Howe or Emery proper credit, but I find it infuriating. andycap
How about a ruling where if you qualify for Europe you get a higher loss threshold for that year to go towards improving the squad to compete. Edited April 8 by andycap

Although, it would just be another thing that would give the big 6 an advantage over everyone else, because they usually qualify for Europe.

TK-421
Aye, they are already negotiating a 'settlement' with UEFA over the womens team valuation, so they'll just throw some more money at them if this becomes an issue, too.
r0cafella
Reminder that PSG lost 600m euro over 3 years (and that's if you believe the related party revenue) and absolutely nothing happened to them.  We shouldn't compare Uefa and the PLs punishment schedules as they are totally different.
