They are just trying to line up with UEFA rules instead which probably makes sense. I think clubs like PSG probably have got round flouting those by paying a fine, so in theory we could do the same. Assuming we actually are serious about being No 1.

As George Orwell so eloquently wrote in Animal Farm….

“It was for everybody else’s sake that the Premier League had to put rules in place that stop anyone apart from Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham from spending loads of money.

Do you know what would happen if we failed in our duty? You’d all do a Portsmouth !":

So if anything things will be tighter for the chasing pack as we more align with the Uefa one?

It depends on if they do anchoring (and how). And it also depends on the punishments and if they are transparent. There’s a big difference between facing a fine that’s a known amount vs. opaque and inconsistent point deductions.

PSRs chief arse licker showing exactly why Brighton will win continue to flog their best players, win fuckall and just be happy to have a seat at the table.

This bloke tried everything to stop our takeover. When the takeover happened he desperately tried (bribed/bullied) everything to change the rules to fuck us up. The bloke is a massive cunt!

Had a random thought the other day about how we could try to enact some change in a roundabout way -- what if we put forward a motion to reduce the pool of equal payments each PL club gets and try to make merit payments a more significant percentage? Put more money on the line by league placement where the difference between 8th and 14th really means something and maybe there's a few less happy to here clubs.

There's risk for this to backfire of course, but no doubt this would get the attention of 6-7 clubs. Would just need to find four more to get the votes, which we know the red cartel is good at influencing by whatever means. Make our enemies our friends for a change.

I can’t wait for Brighton to get relegated.

Where was the fairness in only spending what you could make when he bought them as they were languishing in League One and with a stadium of their own?

Not a bad idea.

Terrible idea. If anything PL money should be more evenly divided through the league and down the pyramid.

Stricter requirements for new owners of clubs in England to prove they are fit to actually run a club, not only the "fit and proper persons" test.

Put some sort of requirement for a parent company or bank guarantee on any loan a club takes up to ensure they won't go bankrupt if they end up not being able to maintain/pay their loans while covering operating costs.

Scrap PSR.

BHA has spent 88% of its history outside of the top flight - it works for clubs like Brighton.  Being in the top tier represents historical success and overachievement.

BHA is a club that PSR is designed for - and why the top flight had become so ossified.  If you were creating a closed-shop top flight they wouldn’t even be in the conversation - in fact, if you were creating a closed-shop PL2 they would struggle to make that list.  They will be relegated at some point and return to their natural home in the third tier of English football - and be replaced by another historically small club with a similar model.
